This doesn't even have anything to do with Phil himself or his so-called magical luck. As I've said many times, there is only one law that applies to this kind of case, regardless of anything written in the Constitution, statutory law, judicial precedent, administrative law, common law, or anywhere else. And that law is:

"Get this lolcow out of my sight".

Nobody involved in this case is Judge Dredd, and they were never going to rummage through Phil's gout heap for every last penny out of sheer dedication to THE LAW. These are people who probably went to law school dreaming of being the next Clarence Darrow or Earl Warren, ended up working the bankruptcy beat in Seattle, and spent the last few decades dealing with a constant parade of shitheads. They just don't want to deal with it - and all the publicity likely amplified that sentiment. Just get it off the docket. It's somebody else's problem now.

"Oh no I'm getting so much E-mails about Philip P Burnell. Well, I guess I'll just ignore the facts and his $10k+ income and no further questions asked about the inconsistencies in his papers".
Says nobody.

I'm currently blaming Corona-Chan for possible delays in decision making. They could still come back to him with a but(t) and kinda ignore the set expiration time because of special circumstances. It's my hope at least.

Edit: What happened to the asset case?

Coronachan definitely contributed to nobody objecting. As far as Nancy goes, take a step back from this situation and imagine you are a normie who gets caught up in this autism vortex for just a second.

Consider what a quick google search looks like to the uninitiated. "Well, he sure does seem like an abrasive fuckup, but there's also a lot of people who are clearly invested in toeing the outright harassment line with him and seem to be actively trying fuck up his life". He is easy to view as a very flawed but also sympathetic figure, especially for someone who spends their days with people who, by definition, are fuckups

I look forward to Phil's unwarranted smugness for the next few months, a fresh batch of PHIL WINS AGAIN, YOU MAY NOT LIKE IT BUT THIS IS WHAT A CHAD LOOKS LIKE memes and Fred Fuchs resurfacing with his suicide note

Worst gimmick account ever!

Seriously though if I already had a mortgage and decent car I’d seriously consider nuking my credit for 7 years for $130k of free money.

Phil's probably paid $130k in interest and fees and fines on that debt over the 6-8 years its been on the cards.

Its why nobody feels bad for banks when idiots get their CCs discharged.

The much better plan is to not rack up debts at all and NEVER just pay the minimums.

I'll assume the answer is no, but does the discharged amount have any tax implications for Phil?
Was a time you would have to claim it as 'income' and pay tax on it. The theory being someone essentially gave you money.
Correction. Apparently not if discharged due to insolvent:

wtf gamers, Rekieta lied to us! let's doxx his ass and make lots of troll tips on his next stream calling him a fag and not a real lawyer
It's almost as if Rekieta is wrong more than he is right.

Rekieta said pretty explicitly that bankruptcy is biased towards the debtor and not to get our hopes up too much.

Although I believe that debt racked up post-bankruptcy is truly the silent killer. After this mindblowing display of DSP luck I can only watch as our hero once again survives tragedy to continue his life as a vastly unpopular beggar behind on his taxes

@AnOminous

I assume the fact that it's still an asset case, and a figure for the discharge hasn't been decided on yet, means that a liquidation is imminent, so that that figure can be calculated?

Also, how much of the findings are to be made public? I would love for it to be on record that Phil blew $40k on a mobile game, even if it is part of the reason he got away with this.

I'm not sure why anyone is upset about this. The entire point of following cows is just to get laughs out of it. Sure it's not fair and just that DSP seems to get away with everything in his life, but ultimately, this just means he's going to keep streaming and being a kahtent creator for years to come. We didn't get the ride to end all rides, but there's certainly more rides to come. With how often DSP makes poor decisions, there's no doubt that we'll see more things as funny as the Bankruptcy Saga and the WWE Champions kerfuffle in the future.
While it kind've sucks to see DSP get away with it just because of the taxpayer money involved, its definitely a funny outcome. No matter what results came about it wouldve been funny tbh. Watching Phil get fucked in court would've been funny but so is watching him bullshit his way out of his credit card debt through sheer luck.

But wouldn't that raise Phil's numbers for a while since something like a CC Discharge like that would merit some coverage?

What taxpayer money? Phil's still on the hook for his taxes, and all his other debt was to private entities. I'm not really going to be weeping into my beer because Citibank can't m-ilk DSP for another 30 years.
