I think the point here is that, due to it having been converted to an asset case, they're going to recoup some costs (nowhere near the full outstanding balance) and call it "even". We just need to hope he forgot to count his other TV, fridge, bed, etc. on his exempt assets and hope they get sold off. This is just shocking... so the credit card companies won't get their money? Dear God....
doesnt phil still have to pay his debts though?
or should i like buy a bunch of shit cause imake under 100k, but have good credit i should just buy whatever i want. 3 houses, a boat or two. couple vehicles. maybe some land and then file for bankruptcy and just be sad my credit isnt good for 7 yrs?

Between this and the whole onision thing and whatever the fuck is happening with weeb wars, you'd almost think that internet spergs dont know the legal system as much as they say they do....
The luck of the lolcow is truly something special. The list of cows that should be dead or in jail is staggering. If you look at all of the cows who've actually faced time, it's either because of stuff they did in the public eye, or because the thing they did was so egregious that the moment it fell under the right set of eyes it'd be acted upon.
Onision will likely never see inside of a jail cell precisely because he skirts the line of the law so closely, unlike Sick Nick who was just a matter of time. But for someone like DSP who is a literally who for anyone outside this autistic corner of the Internet, they will generally get away with seemingly outrageous things because the only point of contact they will ever have with authorities are these one-off encounters.
I personally congratulate the pigroach on his legal lottery winnings, and hope he spends his winnings pulling more wrestlers to the frustration of everyone around him.
He still has to pay over $300k in mortgages and car loans.
How much you wanna bet that DarkSydePhill will somehow get himself into higher debt than last time and find some new way to have it cleared with the power of bugged debt mechanics.
yeah but he wont lol, then what?
Chapter 7 was as good as it gets for Phil. He got over 100k of free money. He wasn’t planning on applying for any large loans and he sits at home all day so he doesn’t give a fuck if he can’t finance anything for the next 7 years unless it’s at 30% interest. From what I'm reading it's just his credit card debt - and only some of it at that. His taxes (which were put on a credit card) cannot be discharged and the court can specifically determine certain charges not to be discharged, though I am unsure of what that could possibly be.
If I remember correctly, his credit card debts were around $130k, which if we consider his taxes and perhaps a few other things the court may decide he needs to pay for, "Half a Mil" Phil is still nearly $400k in debt from his home and car loans.
I get that to some it may be upsetting that Phil didn't get glassed from orbit by Super Supreme Court Turbo 2 Hyper Filing, but the goutling is still filing for fucking bankruptcy and only the delusional could see that as a "victory".
So let's all stop posting "A meteor could hit Phil and he would survive and also the meteor would apologize for ruining his day and subscribe on twitch because he did nothing wrong" because that doesn't really do much for this discussion and is probably inaccurate.
Phil will absolutely take out more credit cards at high interest rates and not pay them back. How much you wanna bet that DarkSydePhill will somehow get himself into higher debt than last time and find some new way to have it cleared with the power of bugged debt mechanics.
