Does anyone know why Stephanie always refers to people as “my mom’s dad,” “my mom’s brother,” “my dad’s brother’s son”? It’s so weird that she can’t just say “my grandpa / uncle / cousin.”

I get annoyed enough when someone in my family opens or looks at my mail without my permission. If I found out a neighbor like Staph opened my mail I'd be livid.
