Even that was an America only thing. You could still swap between a boy and a girl in all other languages, the US is just the only one who didn’t label them “male” and “female”.

The villagers aren't even "they", they're all gendered in dialogue, you just don't see it much. Ask Nook to move a house and he'll tell you that he'll call him/her up.
Not even the most benign fucking game of all time can escape this shit. At least those update "leaks" sound badass. Excited to get some bushes and my boy Redd back.

Turnips selling for 402 per on my island. PM me for a DoDo code so I don't get swarmed and crash everyone out.

Calling it, people will complain if you can't take wedding photos of CJ and Flick.
So glad art is coming back, still gotta be on the lookout for knockoffs but that's what makes it exciting. No word on gyroids tho, maybe those will come even later.

Shrubs introduced just in time for me to get terraforming. Thank fuck, maybe I'll be able to lose some of my trees without dropping in village score. Zeal Island is quickly turning into Isabelle's private nature reserve just I so can keep villagers happy.

I’m so happy they’ll add bushes in new update - I hate having flowers everywhere and having bushes to decorate is something I’m relally looking forward to.

Switch is a monumental piece of shit (just like everything Nintendo does) and the playtime updates only when it wants to, and sometimes it takes weeks. Maybe that's why you can't find your gameplay time for Animal Crossing yet.

Surprisingly the hero in turnip trading is Reddit. The AC Reddit bans requiring payment or tips to sell turnips. Tips are encouraged but you aren't allowed to ask for anything in return or kick people out for not paying. Turnip.exchange is mostly greedy assholes shaking you down for fucktons of bells. Some will just block you and demand payment then kick you out and keep the bells.
I've been using Telegram groups and my friends to sell turnips. I also don't have to worry about fences or preventing people from seeing the rest of my island.

tbh if we could get a friendly group of people here that give out dodo codes / friend access whenever they spike, you really don't need to go further afield (for selling turnips, at least). I'm always happy to have random strangers dicking about on my island.
Just a note; turnip pricing indeed does follow a trend, and there is tooling you can use to predict what your pricing will be with an incredible degree of accuracy (this is how I knew I'd have a big price spike today). One example: https://artem6.github.io/acnh_turnips/
With a solid base investment, after 2 - 3 weeks you'll usually find yourself post-scarcity with no trouble.
