Right but what I'm saying is a lot of the people who push the "buy gold!" thing really hard, well, what are they taking in exchange for the gold? The very money they claim won't be stable, could collapse at any minute, etc.

Theoretically if local currency collapses anything bought with the money would still be good. Like if the value of the US dollar suddenly became near zero you could move to some other nation and cash in all your still valuable gold.

Brutal, but not uncalled for.

Edit: There we go, found a clip.

If the US suddenly collapsed, I'm not sure the rest of the world would be in a much better state shortly afterward.

The Boomer Generation and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.

Considering that Gen X and Millennials are a direct consequence of the Boomer Generation I would have to agree.

Edit: Just to explain further, Boomers certainly fucked up quite a bit, my main eyeroll is with people blaming them for all the ills in the world. But arguably their biggest fuckup was a mistake of kindness... more of them raised their children in lives of ease and comfort than probably any generation before, and spoiled the absolute fuck out of them. It resulted in two generations of people who saw all their parents have and assumed it came with as little work or effort as everything they were given by said parents. Like college educations and affordable houses just sort of materialized as gifts for the Boomers who swaggered on in and then went to work at an office job just sitting and twirling a pencil for eight hours a day while gleefully missing school plays and sports games just to be traumatizing. The sheer widespread popularity of socialism/communism among those generations as something that will return them to the lives of pure ease and comfort they lead as teenagers is almost certainly due to how they've benefited from Boomers treating them like tiny little gods their whole existence. And then these same spoiled little nutsacks turn around and blame the generation that spoiled them for not delivering an even better life well into adulthood.

Considering the fact that the Dollar is the largest reserve currency and makes up over 60% of worldwide currency reserves, I would have to guess that a collapse of the Dollar would fuck up most of the world economy in a very short amount of time.

Can anyone cite me a time Noam Chomsky has been right about anything?

He's made a few salient points across his career (a career that has had almost nothing to do with his actual field of study). Someone that's been with us since the mid nineteenth century to judge by his appearance would certainly have at least a few stopped clock moments. But they were almost certainly on accident.

As also been pointed out, boomers were also a bit spoiled by the greatest generation and growing up in a time where the USA was literally at the top of the world in terms of economy because every other developed nation had had theirs blown up in the war.

This has basically warped boomers to expect the economy to always function in the way it did during a time of exceptional coincidences. Let's be honest, even the boomers got things with little work or effort compared to previous generations.

For decades now, things have been returning to normal, and boomers can't seem to grasp that trade-offs are back in the world and you can't get everything you want any more.

Then of course the generation raised by them is having to try and learn lessons that their great-grandparents would have known, and should have been taught to them, but was forgotten as out-of-date.

Chomsky has also gone on record defending the Khmer Rouge and blamed 2+ million deaths in Cambodia on the United States, so fuck him. He's pro First Amendment? The KKK might say they want to stamp out black crime, that doesn't mean I like or agree with those sheet wearing fuckers either.

There is a some prime and unexpected TDS on the DSP WWE Champions mobile game thread of all places.

He told B.F Skinner to BTFO and has been very consistent in defending the First Amendment.

One of the most bizarre things he keeps defending an obvious fraudster who claims he invented email at age 14 in 1978.
That VA Shiva faggot was on The Ralph Retort too. He seems like one of those CIA types who just emerge fully formed from childhood with an ideology and a background.

He did pioneering work in linguistics, like the Chomsky hierarchy. Naturally that has nothing to do with his position as social critic and intellectual.

He's also fun to quote about free speech and propaganda even if he's an obnoxious intellectual

I see no anti-Semitic implications in denial of the existence of gas chambers, or even denial of the Holocaust

The point of public relations slogans like "Support Our Troops" is that they don't mean anything ... that's the whole point of good propaganda. You want to create a slogan that nobody is going to be against and I suppose everybody will be for, because nobody knows what it means, because it doesn't mean anything. But its crucial value is that it diverts your attention from a question that does mean something, do you support our policy? And that's the one you're not allowed to talk about.

I didn't even realize Chomsky was still alive lol
