The anime community will gradually forget this but it will never be the same. There will be some schism, some feeling of distance that can be felt, but not explained. There will be topics that people know to never bring up because the drama.
This should be the main take away here. The damage has been done.
The voices of the community have been loud enough and heard long enough that the sound will be bouncing off the walls for decades.
A large number of people stood up and said "No; Fuck you. You don't just get to declare a well known VA in our hobby a rapist and a pedo based on your flimsy ass years old memories for which there are no receipts. You don't get to end someone's career with unverifiable accusations on our turf while we have something to say about it. Expect stiff resistance you backstabbing duplicitous cunts."
I mean these idiots were planning gay ops on twitter in front of everyone and expected not to get called on it.
That being said none of the rainbow brigade will ever try to pull something this public again... at least in the anime scene. They have learned the same lesson their fellows in the gaming industry learned back in 2014. From now on their executions will be preformed behind closed doors making them easier to hide but less useful in taking down big names. This will be the status quo for the foreseeable future.
Get rid of this...Halt some of these. And make sure this underperforms again. And my skepticism with those statements will start disappearing. Make no mistake, I hold no love for RT as a whole. But It's hard for me to believe the shutting down of the company with these three still playing a factor in their finances.
The third one you linked is actually more evidence as opposed to counter evidence. The reason it is going to max is because it was so poorly managed and so much crunch was involved that the lead on the project was fired and half the animators REFUSED to ever touch it again. The only way to make it happen was for max to foot the bill and promise a longer animation scheduled for the production. IE Max is taking all the risk so as a toll to pay them RT has to have one of their ip's streamed first off their own website that people are actually PAYING to see their products on. It's a slap to the studio and to the fans.
Rats have been jumping off that ship for some time now.
The people who founded it are set for life. they have more money stashed away than i would like to comprehend. These guys were making money off of internet videos before Youtube existed. But, they lost their way. They turned into the very thing they always claimed to hate. A focus tested milktoast media studio putting out more pandering than content. They will be dissolved into their now parent company within the next twelve months. You can quote me on that.
