Nick should just send some purposely dumb shit into orbit and see what happens, would be funny.
If Vic wins his appeal, we're all gonna get to see an orbital event that will make NASA and Elon jealous. Imagine the accomplishment of the entirety of law twitter, KV and the perps...er...I mean victims...yea, victims! of the evil Team Chad all simultaneously breaching the atmosphere on the sheer thrust of cranial explosions and a column of REEEEEEEE.

JYB is not in a legal battle tho.

I'll level with ya tho and say in the beginning it woulda been nice to have him be more on the offensive, before things got so crazy and went to court.
I think that would have made settlement harder. Settlement should've happened if it wasn't for the Defendants being sold on the TCPA as solving their problem. Even with the TCPA, if it didn't break their way, Settlement would have happened right after. I think Vic tried leaving the door open to come to a peace. This is only six months. Less if you go by the motion for the hearing.

As a side note, I'm half wondering if talking the Defendants into the whole TCPA thing was a kind of a gayop to advance Anti-Slapp as a way to protect and empower cancel culture, specifically metoo.

Anyway, once they won the TCPA hearing, KV became irrational. So I can see what Vic was hoping for, for at least the first six months.

serious question:

What if Vic loses?
If he loses appeal, (IMO, is possible, but this case is such a textbook showing of defamation and TI, they shouldn't fail on appeals there) you get lemons and the such attempting to enact a ruling that would have to be retroactively used, so good luck with that, and more cancelling and gayops then ever before, probably all on the same day.

serious question:

What if Vic loses?
That's how it is. Just laugh at the Vic speds who get mad enough to go full gay-ops and laugh when their ineffectual gay-ops fizzle do nothing. Maybe laugh at Amanda/Jamie/Monica/other KickVic sped VAs who have far less work because of their idiotic virtue signaling and their skeletons being outed.

I personally don't feel that way, but that's what you do when you're a Kiwi (for the most part). I REALLY don't want Vic to lose, but the law sometimes can't save people from career ruining fake allegations, and accepting that life ain't fair alongside laughing at the butthurt Vicstans is the best answer to catastrophic failure.

What if Vic loses?

Funimation is being cored out to the point it will just be a brand in Sony's streaming portfolio.

Rooster Teeth is going up like the Hindenburg. It will be a miracle if they survive 2020.

So Vic wasn't going to have work from either of those places for very long even if he some how survived the MeToo strike. And I figure that every other company knows these allegations are bullshit, that Sabat is just a petty asshole who thinks he is King of the Hill, so Vic might start getting roles again.

And Nick is going to release whatever he has on this case. Which should be a lot. He has been talking to convention owners as well as others in the industry.

And depending on what gets released it might just end up nuking Monica and Jamie as well as Sabat.

I doubt the Broken Staircase will be brought up again. Everyone knows what to expect and how to react. The fun times of anime conventions will be replaced with a kind of "reign of terror" where people will be too terrified to be friendly. Every VA will have a lawyer on retainer in case somebody starts some shit.

The anime community will gradually forget this but it will never be the same. There will be some schism, some feeling of distance that can be felt, but not explained. There will be topics that people know to never bring up because the drama.

The Hiroshima of the Weeb Wars.

This should be the main take away here. The damage has been done.
The voices of the community have been loud enough and heard long enough that the sound will be bouncing off the walls for decades.

A large number of people stood up and said "No; Fuck you. You don't just get to declare a well known VA in our hobby a rapist and a pedo based on your flimsy ass years old memories for which there are no receipts. You don't get to end someone's career with unverifiable accusations on our turf while we have something to say about it. Expect stiff resistance you backstabbing duplicitous cunts."

I mean these idiots were planning gay ops on twitter in front of everyone and expected not to get called on it.

That being said none of the rainbow brigade will ever try to pull something this public again... at least in the anime scene. They have learned the same lesson their fellows in the gaming industry learned back in 2014. From now on their executions will be preformed behind closed doors making them easier to hide but less useful in taking down big names. This will be the status quo for the foreseeable future.

Get rid of this...Halt some of these. And make sure this underperforms again. And my skepticism with those statements will start disappearing. Make no mistake, I hold no love for RT as a whole. But It's hard for me to believe the shutting down of the company with these three still playing a factor in their finances.

The third one you linked is actually more evidence as opposed to counter evidence. The reason it is going to max is because it was so poorly managed and so much crunch was involved that the lead on the project was fired and half the animators REFUSED to ever touch it again. The only way to make it happen was for max to foot the bill and promise a longer animation scheduled for the production. IE Max is taking all the risk so as a toll to pay them RT has to have one of their ip's streamed first off their own website that people are actually PAYING to see their products on. It's a slap to the studio and to the fans.

Rats have been jumping off that ship for some time now.
The people who founded it are set for life. they have more money stashed away than i would like to comprehend. These guys were making money off of internet videos before Youtube existed. But, they lost their way. They turned into the very thing they always claimed to hate. A focus tested milktoast media studio putting out more pandering than content. They will be dissolved into their now parent company within the next twelve months. You can quote me on that.

What about the other two? Because we can't ignore the fact money still is the blood of a company. The rats are a sign of problems going inside, and the noticeable loss of good faith currently. Which I am not denying, nor am I denying the crunch problem that plagues the ENTIRE animation industry including RT. They set themselves to fail during the entirety of 2019, and that's on them.

But, my question is what guarantee there is it will be the true end of the company? There's always going to be a possibility of them bouncing off from last year, and continuing like business as usual as they have plans for the rest of 2020. That's why I'm pressing x to this. I'd advise to we wait, and see rather than jump into conclusions.
