I know we discuss Bens jump to politics and obvious grifting attempts pretty often, I brought up a theory a while ago, that ben doesn't really understand politics nor really care about them, (well outside of virtue signaling for social media brownie points.) I stumbled across this video from when he was 19 that pretty much corroborates that. His first point "My first problem with politics are the fact that they're so full of crap." Literally translates to did you know that (gasp) politicians lie and don't always deliver on their campaign promises? I know this because he spends like 3 minutes getting lost in the weeds repeating it in different ways.

He then takes issue with "people who take politics a little too far" which according to Ben means, watching debates and voting as well as being interested in the political world all because someone (most likely his parents) told him essentially "If you don't vote then you can't complain." He then proceeds to explain "Sure I'm 19 years old, and still not registered to vote, nor do I ever plan on voting. I just don't want to. You have to choose between angry old men and wussy young guys. Like I said you just don't trust em. Never in my lifetime have I seen one candidate I'm interested in. Plus if I were to vote for the person who became president that started WW3 I would hate being one of the people held responsible for putting that person in office. So bottom line, I'll never vote and I get annoyed at people that follow politics and don't shut up." Kind of ironic in retrospect, huh?

His last point and the longest is that he hates both "the Repulsicans and dumbocrats" (his terminology) It gets pretty incomprehensible from there. He claims Teddy Roosevelt was the best president, shits on Obama saying Barrack did nothing as president mainly focusing his rage on Michelle making school lunches healthier. Then he just proceeds to show his lack of knowledge about the branches of government. He claims we were turning into a communist state. Blames the entire judicial branch for Casey Anthony going free because "it sends a bad message to kids about murder being okay." He also rallies against things no one likes like government surveillance. It really makes no sense whatsoever.

I think this video is a great showcase of Bens actually political Ideology. (he was in college, at the time he made this) I want to leave you with his final words in the video because they wrap it all up beautifully. "And there is my rant on politics and the US government. I don't consider myself the biggest patriot, but I do love my country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else. However, with the wackos running this country it's hard to keep those thoughts. This is why I try not to be informed about what goes on. because I get so disgusted about how many dumb mistakes our country makes. If we're not getting blown up with nukes by the end of the decade I'll be amazed."
