As she alternates between explaining her daily grievances with her windows, it sounds like she's getting possessed by a demon. Seriously. Get her an exorcist.

Most (if not all) of Gina’s recent vids are of her starting off talking like she’s having a panic attack; yet sounding somewhat human; then she switches from that to psychotic rambling and sounding like a schizophrenic Luna Vachon.

Can someone tell me how long psychotic breaks last? Because I have a feeling that they’re not supposed to last this long. Also, on a somewhat related note, can someone show Mister Metokur these videos?

Because I know that this extremely fucked up individual would make for a great episode of Internet Insanity.

In today's update, Gina calmly (again for almost two minutes, amazingly) explains that she is facing eviction (again) due to financial difficulties (or, a labor union conspiracy, depending)... before diving into her routinely intense and obscene ranting.

Here's the description from this video. According to this, Gina owed income taxes (probably state income taxes, maybe also federal?) and the state recently was able to take the money out of her account to pay what she owed. Of course she's slotted this into her overarching delusion of persecution.

Depends on exactly what you mean.
The active phase of Schizophrenia tends to last a few weeks, before positive symptoms go into remission and cognitive/negative symptoms take the fore. This ebb and flow of psychosis is usually present to some extent whether or not the patient is medicated.
Untreated psychotic breaks that aren't associated with the cyclical nature of Schizophrenia can last longer.
I don't know enough about this individual to tell you which it is, but I hope this helps.

In Michigan, a person like this runs a real risk of freezing to death or walking out on the ice and drowning, if she is in close proximity to a lake. Or driving off the side of the road in the freezing rain, killing herself and others.

As to the bizarre signage, call code enforcement.

If there are animals involved call animal control.

If there are freaky sounds at night, call law enforcement.

If you smell smoke call the fire dept.

At some point, SOME agent will see that she needs serious intervention, upon meeting her and seeing her living conditions.

This woman needs some serious help. I usually DESPISE government involvement and ignore most "concerning behavior" in favor of minding my own business, and ... well ... freedom. But all these freedoms are going to do for her, is endanger her life and others.

I don't know about Michigan, but here in California, the police CAN commit her involuntarily on something called a 5150. In theory you have to be homicidal or suicidal, but those concepts can be embellished.

I am actually genuinely concerned. I am sure that the pros can be at least, SOME help to her. They can't exactly make it worse for her.

I have read thru a lot of this thread and I am a bit taken aback by the all the complex but half-baked reasons for why this woman is not institutionalized, at least until she is stable.

She probably needs a social worker and outpatient treatment, if they can stabilize her.

It’s been a minute since I’ve read this whole thread, but Gina’s neighbors seem to have cops/fire dept/etc on speed dial to the point that she’s been on the news AND in the paper. The cops seem so used to dealing with her bullshit that they’re practically bored. They’re like, is crazy ol’ Gina burning her house down? Threatening to hurt herself or others? No? Okay, back to being cops instead of ad-hoc social workers. And anyway, she has been taken in for psych evals before. None of this shit is working.
I share your frustration. Surely there has got to be some middle ground between “pre-Reagan forced institutional hellhole lockdown” and “post-Reagan neglect where you can be starving yourself, convinced that your body lice are tiny radio transmitters planted from the government, and making little race cars out of your poop, but have to be actively stabbing someone in order for anyone to intervene.”

A compromise would be bringing her in on a 5150 but I don't know if Michigan has an equivalent.

Well here is the part of me that despises these types of interventions at the cost of her (and ultimately our) civil liberties.

I wasn't quite sure what to make of the information given: it is so chaotic.

But from your summary it sounds like they got it under control. The community and its officials have some sort of balance and she IS under surveillance.

I am not a huge fan of force-feeding people medications. It is probably hard to do without indisputable justifications, because it is a violation of many of her civil rights and other kinds of rights that I can't interpret.

Just speculation on my part.

Maybe they are holding out until that critical moment comes.

Who knows. I just feel bad for this person.

She is not in control of her senses and her behavior.

This is about as funny as a kidney stone, high blood pressure or epilepsy.

Maybe law enforcement is not "enlightened" over there, but this woman's brain is diseased.

Just like end stage kidney failure leads to death, end stage brain failure ends in suicide, accidents, violence or dying of exposure to the elements.

I am surprised that Law Enforcement is not afraid of being sued, if this woman wanders out into the cold and freezes to death. Or what if she finally gouges a child's eyes out, thinking he is the Christ child. Considering the abundance of calls that have come in ....
