Thank God. Now Jan is going to keep Jace around just to spite her (him), hopefully. And I don't understand how people seriously read Jezebel and Buzzfeed. I'm only a sophomore at a shitty community college in bumfuck nowhere, and they would've failed me so hard if I wrote this shitty.

Wu will rage about his rights to make shitty video games, but performance pieces aren't considered 'free speech' if they hurt his feels.

It's good that he's contained to a select few ridiculous websites. Jan isn't going to be incarcerated for hurting someone's feelings.

"Lawyer Up" ?

If anything, I'd imagine that Jan and crew have even less to worry about from a litigative standpoint. They went out of their way to portray their character as inept, incompetent, and incapable. If the portrayal of the character is ever dissected in front of a judge, I'd imagine that (as we all know) the character of Jace can hardly be considered a "credible threat". Then again, I know American tort law can be mind-bottlingly out of touch with reality. . . . much like Wu herself.

I don't normally check Twitter out, but some of the comments on it's post are pretty hilarious...

"He needs to be publicly made an example of tho: The law doesn't care if a threat was a hoax. A threat is a threat."

"I call bullshit on him saying it was "joking around". He needs serious counseling so he is not a danger to others and himself."

" does this irresponsible jack-ass have any clue what he's done ? making people fear for their lives ?"

People this dumb really exist?

One thing ; did Jace ever threaten Brianna Wu? At all? As I remember, he "threatened to threaten her", and it was Wu herself who decided he was making death threats and had a car full of guns, and then spread that until it became unquestioned.

So uh, unless I missed Jace making some real death threats, isn't Wu the only one legally liable for anything at all?

IIRC literally the only threat that Jan made toward Wu was a challenge to a street race. He may have also made some ridiculous video game analogies, but only a complete moron or a self-aggrandizing diva struggling with their very real irrelevance would take them seriously.

Wu is literally an attention whore. That's how she makes a living.

It can't be helped.

He basically challenged her to a street race and accused her of conspiring against him.

They should settle it with a street race.

It's just Wu trying to sensationalize the situation and get the pity party drums thumping. Roll on the frivolous lawsuit paid for by daddys money and the army of fat ugly tumblrites/twatters screaming "U GEDDIM! UR FEELINZ MADDUR!".

Afterall. A webmaster-journalist-political activist-feminist-games designer-programmer FEMALE OF INDUSTRY shouldn't have to put up with male menaces like JAN LOLCOWSKI making them look like the tottering insane dipshit she actually is.

Yeah, that's all I can recollect as well. A few absurd references *desiring* to attack Wu, comparing it to him flying from the rooftops with a cape "Assassin-Creed style", howling like a wolf or some bullshit. It is also not directly issued to her, and was a passing comment in one of the livestreams. Simply put, even if that can be taken as a threat, Jace's character had no means.

It is my understanding that if it came to a court challenge, Wu would essentially have to claim that she thought that threat was realistic. To which the judge would promptly reply "Get the fuck out of here". Different from a protective order.

But I'm speculating out of my ass, and am unfamiliar with American law.

Now that would be a court hearing I'd love to attend.

Maybe Wu will create a bonus boss in the steam release that is Jace

I bet that'd actually sell some copies.

You know what, though, on second thought, I kinda hope she does.
I mean, I'd buy it to play a game where you fight The Commander online.

And Jan and MDE, not being complete fucking idiots, could probably then sue Wu for copyright infringement if they were so inclined. It wouldn't be too hard to prove Jace Connors as a form of intellectual property to Jan...
