MRA: Men's Rights Activist. What was originally a group that wanted to bring to light male-targeted domestic abuse and pushing for fathers to get better custody of their children, devolved over the years. It now houses a group of angry, bitter misogynists that believe that all women (or at least ones from 1st world countries) are evil, manipulative whores who run a matriarchy to keep men down. It's like a reverse version of radfems.

Honestly I don't understand why "latino" covering men, women and anybody in between isn't enough (like "mankind" referring to all of humanity and not just men). You gotta involve "@" and "x" and stuff. Does anybody that lives in a Latin American country even do that?

It's slightly more "proper" to use Latina for females, but again, it's one of those things that don't matter.

I wonder, do these morons exist in countries with languages like German where all nouns have gender? Do they freak out because a wall uses feminine pronouns?

Rape Culture: Once a legitimate concern about society's views on sexual violence, rape culture has now come to mean a belief that all men are predators and that any exchange between a man and a woman has undertones of rape. (Ironically, the term "rape culture" was actually coined to describe the prison culture of man-on-man rape, but most SJWs prefer to ignore the existence of male rape victims and insist that rape can only be male-on-female.)

Male Tears: A lot of SJWs joke about drinking male tears. It's a purposely condescending way of dismissing men's issues, usually with the reasoning that any problem a man might experience can't compare to the way women are oppressed.

Trans Ethnicity: The belief that, while you may actually be from the US, you're spiritually Japanese/British/etc. Often used as a defense if you get accused of cultural appropriation. Which brings me to...

Cultural Appropriation: Taking something from another culture's traditions outside of its original context and co-opting it because you think it's cool. While this was born out of a good-intentioned desire to respect other cultures, it's now become frankly ridiculous. Frequent targets to accuse of cultural appropriation include white people with dreadlocks, white girls who dress up as Native Americans or gypsies for Halloween, and white people who listen to rap or hip-hop. (SJWs basically get a huge hate boner if white people do anything ever.)

A lulzy clarification on the nounself pronouns: I've seen self-appointed otherkin authorities claim rather stridently that only non-binary otherkin are allowed to use neo-pronouns. If you are a cis-otherkin fuck you for wanting to refer to yourself in a way you feel comfortable with; keep your filthy paws (or tentacles, or claws, or astral wings, or what the fuck ever) off the made-up pronouns.

Transethnic (other sense): I know this has already been defined, but there is another sense of the term that is actually used in academic studies, but are frequently abused by tumblrites. Basically, any adoptive parent-child relationship where the child is of a different ethnicity than their adoptive parents. While there are legitimate social questions about a child being brought up in a culture that isn't associated with their skin color, like a black kid being raised by caucasian parents and accultured in a european-style world, many tumblrites jump on it to say "Whites can't raise a POC!!!11!1!" and "They're robbing him of his African heritage!!!" when they see white parents with black children.

Diagnosis privilege: The idea that people who have actual medical diagnoses for mental illnesses (and sometimes even physical disabilities) have some kind of privilege because they have increased access to services and therapy. Because the symptoms of any disability should be apparent upon legitimate psychological inspection, the fact that some people on Tumblr actually hold this view further cements the notion that many of these self-diagnosed people are just trying to pick up oppression points. Even more hilariously (and disturbing, unfortunately) as noted above some self-diagnosed people think that not having a formal diagnosis for, say, schizophrenia makes you more oppressed and in need of help than those privileged diagnosed people.

"Cultural appropriation" is actually a good thing for everyone involved, at least in general. Some bad examples are the aforementioned white people with dreadlocks, but only if they have completely straight white people hair. And there, the problem is more that they look really stupid than that they're somehow victimizing someone by their choice of hairstyle. The kind of hair that makes your standard Jewfro makes pretty decent dreads.

I can also see complaining about shit like "appropriations" that basically make a mockery of the culture they're borrowing, like the cult leader James Arthur Ray's disgusting "sweat lodge" ritual, a fake Native ritual that used quackery and ended up killing people (for which Ray went to prison).

It's also funny it's always other white people complaining about shit like this. I've never met an "Indian" who insisted on this "Native American" bullshit. I will generally go along with this PC bullshit because I'd rather talk about what I'm talking about than get diverted into dumb tangents about bullshit, but it has very little merit to it. At best, it's somewhat misguided attempts at showing respect.

The world needs fewer officious busybodies taking offense on other people's behalf. I'm sure people are entirely capable of taking offense on their own behalf if they're actually offended.

Gatekeeping (In Theory): Assuming one has the authority to determine who is "the real thing" and who is not, thus excluding people. Usually used in the transgender community, gatekeeping is an allegation typically levied at people, particularly "truscum", who attempt to define the term "transgendered" in any concrete or structured manner.

Which lead us to:
Gatekeeping (In Practice): You have committed the cardinal sin of asking a transgendered individual to clarify an opinion, or expressed disagreement with their stated opinion. That individual will now use this term to try and paint you as a force of pure evil and injustice, because they either cannot respond to your statement or simply don't want to. Essentially, it's another meaningless term used for mudslinging in order to avoid having to clarify a position in a debate.

"So Important"- Usually referring to and insisting upon a depiction of a certain group in mass media, even if the supposed intent was not actually intended at all. Ex "This werewolf character that doesn't shave her legs is so important omg"

Mansplaining -- portmanteau of "man" and "explaining". Originally used by feminists in response to men who attempt to rationalize and invalidate what feminists consider "women issues", such as birth control, abortion, rape and sexual discrimination. The idea is that men can never have the emotional experience of women, and are therefore not qualified to comment on them. SJWs extends the concept to any instances when a cis man (or someone assumed to be a cis man) offers explanations or criticisms to a non-male person, regardless of the issues under discussion. This is related to the concept of...

Safe Space -- a venue or forum in which a perceived underprivileged or oppressed group (which usually mean women, homosexuals or transgendered people) can share information and obtain emotional support without criticism or ridicule from people who allegedly oppress them. In Tumblr usage, this simply means an echo-chamber, or exclusive club, in which membership is strictly controlled and dissent is forbidden.

Shitty/Gross: Words to describe anything an SJW doesn't like. These words are most likely used due to words like "stupid" and "dumb" being "ableist".

Ableist Language: Often used as a trigger warning, this phrase is applied to words like "stupid", "dumb", "idiot", "crazy", etc., because SJWs claim those words are insulting to the mentally disabled.

Ageism/Adult Privilege: SJWs hate adults, especially their parents, for calling them out on their bullshit. So, they invented these terms to describe the imaginary oppression they face from people who are older and more experienced than them.

Transphobia: Transphobia is actually a real thing, and it refers to hatred of and discrimination against transgender people. Obviously, that's a bad thing. On Tumblr, however, it can mean almost anything. Do you think people need dysphoria to be trans? You're transphobic. Do you not agree with Tumblr's numerous fake genders and pronouns? You're transphobic. Do you disagree with a Tumblr transtrender on anything or upset them in any way? You're transphobic. Even actual transgender people have been called transphobic for these reasons.

Cisphobia: The opposite of transphobia, meaning hatred of cisgender (non-trans) people. SJWs claim it doesn't exist while bragging about how much they hate cis people.

Misogyny: See "transphobia".

Misandry: See "cisphobia".

Folk: For some reason, SJWs have an odd habit of using the word "folk" instead of "people". Example: "trans folk". This is most likely to avoid excluding otherkin, who don't believe they are people.

Mostly Native Americans get pissed at white people wearing war bonnets mostly because of the symbolic nature of the war bonnet: from what I understand, you have to earn the right to wear one. To be able to do so is an honor.

Honestly, out of all the ethnic groups who complain about cultural appropriation (or have white people complain on their behalf), I feel like Native Americans have the most ground to stand on, considering how they were killed en masse by white American settlers, by a great number of horrible ways, and life still isn't that great for many of them in comparison to non-native minorities.

That being said, white "allies" tend to make a show out of dogpiling on some girl wearing a war bonnet who doesn't know any better and sometimes I feel like it's more of a performance than anything. Instead of say, maybe linking to a resource on why it can be seen as disrespectful, they prefer to call for blood.

TBH I feel that way about of Tumblr social justice. It's a performance.

So much agree!

It's usually not sensitivity because they recognize that something's wrong, it's sensitivity to boast to one's friends "Look how nice. I am, you guys! I would never be terrible like this person. Praise me plz."

Wait what? That thing is real? I thought that was a marijan thing

Now for the elephant in the room...

Patriarchy -- an imaginary cabal of men (usually white, old or dead) who subjugate and micromanage women culturally, economically and politically. In Tumblr, patriarchy is the source of all sufferings of women, from forcible rape to having to turn in your homework on time. Feminists attribute Patriarchy to injustices felt by men too, because women are all angelic creatures who can never oppress anybody.

Toxic Masculinity -- stereotypically male traits like aggressiveness, competitiveness, reliance of logic, and dismissal of emotions. To sane people, these traits can be adaptive or maladaptive, depends on the situation; but to Tumblr feminists these are poisons that need to be expunged from all men. Paradoxically, aggressiveness and competitiveness are considered favorable traits in a woman (these are supposed to be "empowering" or some shit) -- and are only "toxic" in men.

Tulpa -- a concept from Tibetan Buddhism, stolen by Tumblrites (see: Cultural Appropiation) to mean a particularly vivid Headmate, that has somehow gained sentience of its own. This is a sign of psychosis, and people who have "tulpas" are urged to seek professional assessment immediately.

Yes, it's real. "Men's Rights" is a bad name for it, but I do agree with some of its core ideals (more support for male domestic abuse victims/more accountability for female criminals, mostly) . But much like feminism it's attracted some very toxic people with an axe to grind. There are sane supporters, but it's gained a pretty terrible reputation, and for a good reason.

It unfortunately attracts people with the "sports team" mentality toward politics/social issues. We cannot give an inch, because if they win a point, we lose a point, and we dare not lose. Sanity is difficult when compromise is verboten.

I've got a few:

Egalitarianism: The principle that all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities. Sounds great, right? Wrong. You see, in Tumblrland, the only equality movement that exists or deserves to be supported is feminism (which advocates women's rights and seeks to make them socially, politically, and economically equal to men). Many Tumblr feminists desire to retain a monopoly on the equality movement and so demonize egalitarianism, claiming that it doesn't care about the oppressed and that everyone should just be feminists instead. Yeah, I can't really explain it, either.

Identity as a choice: Probably the biggest victory for the LGBT movement was convincing the public that gay people really are "born this way" and don't deserve to be mistreated for something they can't control any more than they can control the color of their skin. However, as of late, Tumblrinas seem to like the idea that you can choose your gender/sexual identity. Probably the biggest example of this are the tucutes/transtrenders, who believe that you don't need body dysphoria to be trans and that you can pick and choose what identity and pronouns you want. On the sexuality side, some Tumblrites advocate political lesbianism (or choosing to be a lesbian because men are icky and gross) and many posts are made where the OP wonders why girls don't just be with girls instead of boys. When confronted about this, many of them will say that they're just advocating for people to "explore their identities" (and you're scum if you disagree) but rarely confront the actual issue of one's sexual/gender identity being a choice.

Male/white tears: A flippant and derogatory response to, you guessed it, someone who is white and/or male. This is usually used when someone is called out for being an asshole regarding a "privileged" group. For example...
Tumblrina: Fuck white people, they all deserve to get rounded up and shot. Then the world would actually be a good place!
Person: Hey, that's pretty offensive. I'm white and I've never hurt anybody.
Tumblrina: Go cry some more white tears to someone who gives a shit.

Oppression Olympics: Not used by Tumblrinas themselves but by the people discussing them, the Oppression Olympics refers to a simple concept: When two or more people compete with one another to see who is the most oppressed or disadvantaged. For example: "So you're a black lesbian? Wow, I would kill to be in your position. I'm half Native American/half Indian and I lost both of my legs in a car accident!" The main event of the Oppression Olympics is mental gymnastics, or jumping through hoops to justify your behavior and/or blame anyone but yourself.

Religion: SJWs have a very... unusual view of religion. The vast majority of SJWs are atheist or agnostic, and many look upon religion with scorn, claiming that it is the root of all evil and that humanity would be better off without it. However, "religion" usually only means "Christianity" and occasionally "Judaism;" religions such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism are treated with the utmost respect and anyone who criticizes them is labeled a bigot. The reason for this is simple; Christianity (and to a lesser extend Judaism) is the dominant religion in the Western world (where 99.2% of SJWs are from) and religions such as Islam are seen as exotic and, most importantly, oppressed due to how they tend to be racialized (this is most evident with Islam, as post-9/11 panic has heavily tarnished its reputation within the Western world and Middle Eastern people are often judged/discriminated against). In reality, to SJWs, religion is much more a racial issue than a spiritual one (as to them, Christians are all white and non-Christians are all POC), despite the fact that only a small handful of religions (and none of the major ones) declare that only certain races may follow them.

Q: Does anyone know the origin or etymology of tucute? Is it a tongue-in-cheek term that Tumblr somehow took seriously, or did they really think they're being naughty and "cute"?

And why it is tucute rather than trucute (following the example of truscum)? And am I wrong in assuming there is logic behind it?

Excuse me, double post.

Spoon -- an idiosyncratic metaphor for "physical and/or mental effort". To understand it you have to read a long-ass story. The gist is that people with chronic physical or mental illnesses often feel they have a fixed daily "allowance" of energy. They have to plan their lives so that they would not "run out". To them, having to deal with contingencies is mentally taxing and might provoke emotional outbursts -- Spare me! I don't have the spoon for that! -- Proper Tumblr usage include that time when you are too lazy to do the laundry, and when you pretend you have depression or autism.
