Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

...ITS ON FUCKING AMAZON?

HOT DAMN! I know what I'm watching this Thanksgiving weekend!

And thus a new Thanksgiving tradition was born.

And in the end Disney proves idiots like HelloGreedo wrong by doing the exact same shit they hated George for, and unsurprisingly, HelloGreedo refuses to make a video on Disney's edits despite making vids dedicated to every single little edit George made. He even refuses to acknowledge Greedo's line change despite Disney putting the blame on George for that one. Tards like him boasted how Disney would finally release the unedited OT, yet they have yet to deliver and done the exact opposite while their devotees like HelloGreedo don't even bother to acknowledge how much worse shit is, instead shilling endlessly without remorse or shame without admitting how wrong they were. Only publishing more clickbait bullcrap.

Then again I wouldn't be surprised if HelloGreedo is in good with Lucasfilm/Disney considering that he's getting to do interviews with people on the inside and even devs. A true blue fucking sellout and hypocrite.
I think people like HelloGreedo are caught in a hell of their own making.
So dedicated to their narrative of how mean old Lucas had lost it and was "ruining" Star Wars forever.
And of course Disney were going to be the ones to ride in and "save" Star Wars from the old man.
Some people are very stupid if you haven't noticed.
So know they have to convince themselves that the Emperor has New Clothes and that Star War isn't being raped and whored out by the Rat worse than Lucas could ever have done.
A decade and a half of Nerd Rage can't have all been for nothing now can it?
The choices being either to admit to being wrong and that Lucas wasn't all that bad or to shill like theres no tomorrow and to pretend that this was what you wanted all along.
Consistency and honesty leading to the former and hypocrisy and ego leading to the latter.

When your smug, asshole ego is starting to backfire on you because you thought needlessly buying a company that didn't need to be bought out would bring in profits.

You guys ready for another face palm thought?

Why isn't Rey force pushing or pulling against the Sith Troopers? Did she kind of forget she had the force and is a Mary Sue?
To be fair that's a problem that pops up a lot with Jedi and the Force.
For example how come no Jedi ever uses the Force on General Grevious?
He's a non Force sensitive grafted into a droid body and has no defense against the Force whatsoever.
And yet everyone keeps trying to beat him with a lightsaber instead of just slamming him into a wall or dropping him off a cliff.
The answer most of the time for this kind of question is lazy writing and I'm sure it's no different here.

Didn't Grievous have magnetic attachments on his feet or something? I recall that being a thing in the Episode III video game that usually made him immune to force push/pull moves. Don't know if it was actually canon or just a game mechanic but it would explain things.

- The bollywood industry reacts to somehow becoming more popular than fucking star wars in the west -
Wait, that's the source of my favorite Trump gif? SOLD! 😁

Who is this strawman and where can I find him? Baby Yoda isn't being shilled by dudebro Star Wars fans, he's shilled by nuwars fans on twitter and journalist outlets. Look up Baby Yoda on Google and it's all articles by Jezebel and Salon.
Maybe it's a chick thing? My sister adores the little green sprog.

The dudebros like Mando shit and western stylings.
MFW when the most well-received thing that Disney has done with Star Wars is basically Karen Traviss copypasta. :smug:

Oh wait...they (or rather KK) did actually forget about jetpacks after all KK did say this

"Every one of these movies is a particularly hard nut to crack. There’s no source material. We don’t have comic books. We don’t have 800-page novels. We don’t have anything other than passionate storytellers who get together and talk about what the next iteration might be.”
Wait- how does that make them any harder to write than literally any other movie for which an original script and a little of world-building is needed? 🤔

To be fair, I think George Lucas never intended using the Force to be the sort of flashy super-power thing that many fans seem to think of. It's a "powerful ally," yes, but it's not infallible and it doesn't make you invincible in battle. When Darth Vader says that the power of the Death Star is insignificant next to it, he's not speaking literally, but rather of more subtle and nebulous uses, like being able to play one half of the galaxy against the other for years on end and take advantage of the ensuing chaos to one's own benefit, not pull Star Destroyers out of orbit.

The Bahubali movies are some of the best dumb fun movies of the decade, God knows how I wish a capeshit movie so unleashed and larger than life

The catapult shit it's something you would expect in a Mel Brooks parody, not a numbered Star Wars movie, but this is Jar Jar :stress:
"They fly now?!"
"They fly now!"
"What next?"
*Three stormtroopers appear from the left in flippers and floaties
"Could it get any worse?!"

So the whole time Finn was in the First Order, he was not aware of this class of trooper? I guess since he was a janitor, he knew nothing.
Finn, despite being a janitor (on both Starkiller Base and The Supremacy apparently, despite the fact that cleaning is droid work) knows about the FO's hyperspace tracker. Like, why the fuck would they even tell some rando trooper about that? Especially a rank and file grunt who hadn't even been tested in combat.

Fuck Rian Johnson so fucking much.

Which is a stupid plothole they could fixed with a line about him having been on KP duty for disciplinary reasons or something instead of being a literal janitor. I've stated this criticism multiple times here and in the Star Trek thread, but in CURRENT YEAR everyone writing military-centered sci-fi is a bunch of mentally ill hipster faggots who are completely hostile to the notion of the military and thus know nothing about it. You used to get plenty of WWII or Vietnam vets in the writing rooms or at least some Tom Clancy spergs who were really into it. Now we get what is ostensibly a wartime drama adapted into outer space with a bunch of morons writing comics about the pilots being into "self-care" and sucking each other off in charge of it.

BSG and Stargate had actual military advisors and were greatly improved thanks to it.

I really........really.....genuinely fucking hate to say this but....back in the day one of the only positive things people said about Karen Traviss was that she was competent at writing the lines/characterisations of soldiers and military people due to the fact she served in some capacity and had a family history in the military or some shit, even if she wrote everyone else to be drooling fucktards and wrote about the "bigger picture" of various wars with less skill than your average Wehrboo with a Guderian bodypillow*

Honestly this is one thing even the absolute most abject fucking reprobates of the old EU and old Fandom had. They actually genuinely got invested in some specific part of the mythos that appealed to them, even if they did it at the expense of everything else, be it ultra mandalorians or new mary sue jedi or waifu shotacon sith or S&M aliens....atleast they cared about the autistic shit they spewed

* To use one infamous example, she was absolutely fanatical for some autistic reason about insisting in her work that the Clone Wars were smaller in scale and involved fewer soldiers than the Eastern Front of WW2 despite.....ya know....being galaxy level conflicts

To be fair to Traviss (and this is coming from someone who is not into Mando faggotry) I think it was mentioned that the small scale of the troopers came directly from George's own 'tism rather than Karen's, since even in Attack of the Clones Obi-Wan says "Kamino still has about a million or more clone troopers in various stages of preparation" . If that was the case, Karen's only fault was not being able to handle criticism or explain herself better, but then again, her critics were pretty damn retarded and threatening, often being ultra sensitive in regards to anything she said. Regardless, she could've taken some creative liberties to try and improve things. Then again, the small number may have been deliberate since the entirety of the war was just a sham anyway so Palpatine could obtain power, either that or its just another example of what happens when you surround George with Yes Men.

Another thing of note is that a lot of media at the time claimed that there were non-clone military soldiers that were part of the Republic Army, since recruitment still existed and there was also the fact that many planets and star systems had their own planetary armies that joined up with the Republic, which could be seen in Genndy Wars and Filoni Wars (among other media at the time) with Genndy Wars having planetary armies joining up with the Clones/Republic (while showing Kenobi in full clone armor) and Filoni Wars also having some regular human officers seen alongside the clones aboard starships where helmets weren't required (although clones would be more abundant since they were easier to animate in Filoni Wars, hence the smaller scale of the battles and the constant same face among the battles in earlier seasons). Like most non-movie media not done by Traviss, Filoni Wars and other supplements claim that millions of more clones were being produced that far outnumbered 3 million. So I guess you could see the Clones as more of an elite supplementary force. Then again, some have argued that the whole "3 million units" shit could be interpreted as each "unit" having its own specific number of troopers, like maybe each unit has (pulling a random number out of my ass here) 1,000 troopers each, which would amount to 3 billion in total. But then again, Traviss herself mentions 3 million "men" I think, so she fucks that up, but I haven't read her clone shit in years so I could be wrong for all I know, but I'm pretty sure she used "men", and I still don't understand why she was so adamant about it. Even if it was George's idea, she could still go against his dumber choices like some authors would.

Regardless, Disney doesn't do much better at fixing or explaining this since Disney lore claims that only 5 million troopers were ever produced. So they just added 2 million more (by the end of the CW) without any ambiguity or using human recruits. And this rule is followed by every nu-author. So, we only have 5 million with no non-clone recruits or additional numbers without any room for ambiguity or speculation. I mean you'd think the first thing they would fix would be this, but nope.
