Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

Smart people of the thread, are there any consequences if Lemonfag fudges the numbers and charges his clients far less now?
In theory, yes. In practice... no.

In theory, he is on record saying to the court that he would. Thus, a failure to means he lied to the the judge which is contempt. In practice, I doubt any Judge would want to give a fuck. They'd remember it for later.

Well, he would have directly lied to the court. I'm not sure how anyone will know about it if he does, though. If he bills them and then forgives the debt, though, it might count as taxable income to MoRon.

This is entertaining and all but assuming the appeals continue it sort of feels like much ado about nothing. Or maybe it's like the mascot run during the 7th inning stretch.

In any case I eagerly await the smug versus sperg reactions from both sides.
What mattered to me was that Lemon got fucked. He dug his hole, jumped in it and for now he has to question if there's an appellate judge above him with a shovel.

Disappointing, I was hoping for maximum shenanigans.

So did Chupp just give flat numbers or break it down by cause of action? That would be helpful if only some causes of action are dismissed. Otherwise the appeals court will just have to figure it out on their own or (more likely) just entirely recalculate them de novo.
Sadly, he just gave flat numbers.

It's closer to being broken down in terms of "these are costs incurred for the plaintiff in this scenario and if he decides to appeal, then these costs will be added onto the final sum."

Little confused about the fees though. So Vic is on the hook for fees if anyone ask for a review? That just seems a little odd if he doesn't ask for a review.

The idea here is that he would owe only to his council if he did that. The GFM would cover the fees & sanctions. Chupp's ruling essentially cost JSL's team $160k.

EDIT: This ruling is essentially Judge Chupp's idea of a saving grace - he can go appeal if he wants, but if he chooses not to, considering the GFM, Vic can walk away owing only the cost of his council. I think he knew he made a major mistake, the only way to properly correct the mistake was to dismiss everything, and threw Vic a bone.

I do think it'll get interesting around here, since I think people around here are way more invested in one side than the other, and are going to go into the appeal expecting far more than they probably should be. Like the COA is gonna ride in on white horses, say that Chupp is a total idiot, tell Lemione to fuck off and let every cause of action through. I get the feeling people are going to see the appellate court dismiss some of the causes of action and start screaming bloody murder. Which, y'know, will be entertaining and all, but still.

No, but his bills show he'd been mostly paid, anyways. $115k should get him fully paid or very close.

It's by defendant. Nobody tried to segregate by cause of action because they were all dismissed.

If the appeals court reverses as to some causes, but not others, they will also have to remand to Chupp for him to re-evaluate the attorney's fees awards.

I honestly have my expectations at:
Funimation being tacked for Defamation and TI Prospective business (Possibly TIEC if what Nick was hinting before can be believed hard maybe on the civil conspiracy if they can convince the court through Monica's e-mails)
Monica and Ron for all causes, due to their coordination on the Kamehacon TI and constant defamation
And I still have no faith Jamie will be staying even after the appeals.
