My suspicion is the crash was legit, and they used it as a opportunity to turn it into a Jace fiasco

It's pretty compelling, they DO look the same, except that the image of Jan on the left is from Last May, and the image of Jace is from 2011 or 2012, it's one of the earliest images of Jace around.

What did Jace look like in May 2014? This...

I wasn't even remotely as invested in these guys as some of you, but man I had a lot of affection for the ridiculous stories born from these guys. Tyce and the skealetin analchest war. Eli going to Israel. MICIS. It's a beautiful sort of stupid. If this is truly all a hoax it crossed the line just enough times to make something so crazy believable.

........That and let's have a moment of silent respect for the dedication required to involve actual vomit festering on a floor in a daily diss video. Of all the details, this is one that sticks out pretty hard for me.

And it was likely filmed much earlier. By the way i made that picture as a complete joke. There is much more damning evidence, almost all is in the MDE thread in side ops. Read it.
 
What happens if Jace makes a video denying all of this?

I can't imagine something involving this much commitment would be let go of easily by the person who created it.

This, basically. Don't get me wrong, if this is fake, it is the most hilarious thing there has ever been, but the amount of time put into it places it in such a light that the whole event is fucking insane. There were countless hours and dollars put into this production which only served to entertain a few hundred hobbyists. What could possibly have even been the motivation for Deagle Nation? Is it dedication? Love? Comedy? Business? Batshit insanity?

Shit, who knows? Maybe we weren't meant to know.

I think we're going to find, that there are grains of truth within this "lie."

I mean, think about Jack Nicholson, and what he's brought to the various roles he's played, over the years. If there's a thread that connects them, it's this "I don't really give a fuck what you think" attitude to the characters. That part wasn't quite acting. It's "true." Because I'm pretty sure, Jack Nicholson IRL, doesn't really give a fuck what most people think.

Similarly, I suspect that John Malkovich and Kevin Spacey are kind of assholes, IRL, because IMO that's a common thread, running through their performances. This, "I'm smarter than you, and even pointing it out is a waste of my time," vibe they have going. Ben Stiller too, while we're on the subject.

I'm not saying that Jace isn't faking, mind you... But I'm 90% sure he's a little bit "exceptional" or whatever you want to call it. He's too good at "acting" crazy, to not have some craziness in him, you know?
 
People severely oversell how difficult it would be to stay in character for hours at a time, when the character is an amalgamation of a specific breed of internet sperg. If this guy spent a lot of time on military/gun enthusiast forums, regurgitating a broad pastiche of the craziest and stupidest he encountered wouldn't be very far a stretch at all. The points about developing such rich backstories and seemingly being able to extemporize at length on them is a fair one, and I don't wish to underplay what an incredibly solid job these guys did. But it's not superhumanly impossible like some would make it out to be.

Of course, that begs my elir thought: these guys are so meticulous and dedicated, but never thought to cover their tracks with the steam account? Especially when it would have been easy to burn it off during the Tyce Takeover saga? It's certainly a situation that strains credulity... but what part of Deagle Nation doesn't? On the flipside of people overestimating how difficult it would be to use this, people also sometimes overestimate how unlikely it would be for a person like Jace to actually exist. I guarantee there are hundreds of people who act and think just like him, and if they were severely cognitively disabled and relentlessly trolled? Yeah, I could see something like Tupacalype or MICIS happening. It strains credulity, but never quite breaks it.

If this is a troll, they were certainly very good at what they did. But they weren't quite doing the impossible here.

(Also, I really love the theory that people behind the scenes started getting cold feet over how far Wupacalypse was pushing things... I don't jecessarily believe that's what happened, but it's a fun little narrative. Conspiracies within conspiracies! A guy like me's gotta go deeper to get his fix, now that the old conspiracy is public consensus.)
