Hah, wow, friend. I know that the feeling of social stigma and exclusion can be powerful, but he is an idiot thinking Japan will be a better place for him. Japan is an absolute shit place to work unless you're an artisan, JET, or Japanese by heritage, and even then, you will have to get accustomed to the local mores and customs and scour long and hard in the surrounding area or further for any sort of person who you could make friends with, and even then, Japan is also about connections too. About as much as I shit on the States, you can still go a long way here than other places unless you know what you are doing workwise if you are a citizen.
Sorry for my ignorance, but what is JET? I did hear him say something about a jet program but I didn’t follow up on it.
The Japanese overwork their employees, which is why I always find it funny when weebs quit their American jobs for having a bad work environment. Many of them also fail to recognize networking and having a good work history is vital to getting a good job anywhere. Also, if they can speak Japanese well, and can work for a multinational organization, they could probably work themselves into a position that they’d get to interact with Japanese.
