You have to have patience to be a good gamer- be able to recognize enemy patterns & time your attacks & plan your strategies. Can you imagine him playing a stealth title like Thief, or Alien Isolation? He'd rage-quit so hard. Even Dishonored which allows you to be stab happy on occasion & still get the good ending would be beyond him. . His 'gaming' channel largely consists of him dicking around in open world games, never really doing anything of consequence to the main plot. I don't even think he enjoys gaming that much-it's just what his target audience is into.

I had a neighbor who's house I'd sometimes get stuck at if my parents had to work late or were called in; their boy was my age, but we were never friendly beyond what our parents imposed on us.

He was very much like Greg; vapid, self-centered, zero patience for anything, victim complex, and a penchant for breaking things. So pretty much all I'd do is sit & watch him play Nintendo.

Two player was right out; he sucked so bad, it was harder to not beat him every time, and he'd usually begin losing his shit before a match even started ("You picked my guy! I hate this stage! That was MY POWERUP!").

And then there was his Nintendo game collection; it was huge, which I guess was his parent's preferred method of keeping him contained. But he only would play them if they worked with Game Genie..... and he'd still lose somehow, but more often just run around endlessly on the same screen, mowing down perpetual spawning enemies in God mode.

Same thing with Zelda; he never actually progressed anywhere, only fucked around with tektites in one area or attempted to stab/kill/molest every NPC possible.

But what I really remember was the first time he tried playing River City Ransom, and GGenie made the game glitch, his favorite Godmode code didn't work, and he was getting his ass handed playing solo from the very beginning. I offered to jump in and help, but after my second request he paused the game, ripped the 2nd controller from the port, and threw it out the bedroom window. Then it wasn't more than 5min later when he rage quit, monkeyslapped the console until the cart popped out, and then stomped on it until the thing was crushed.

He was a complete slob too, and had the same kind of cromag forehead.

Slight PL: I had to entertain a younger family member once and they gravitated towards the console under the TV. After trying some games, asked to play GTA. I set a rule: they're only allowed to drive around on the BMX so that they don't shoot anyone, run people over with cars, etc. She sat cheerfully skating around the city with no wanted level, doing no missions, occasionally being hit by cars, and enjoying the experience thoroughly. She was 8, Greg is getting on for four times that age and hasn't developed beyond it.

I see that as a common theme with people like Gerg. Brag about this and that, but when it comes time to showcase your efforts, you're embarrassingly bad. Rate me whatever, but it's usually the people who play the same 2 games every day, and it's either GTA, or CoD. Coolbeans, you play games that lost their appeal years ago, and never divert towards games that take a different play style. How bland.

GTA 5 is a great game, it's story mode was amazing in my opinion, but there are mandatory missions that can be very difficult and VERY frustrating, I bet thats why he just drives around instead of doing actual gameplay. Same with GTA 5's online multiplayer, it's basically just people being assholes to others and blowing up their shit etc. Greg wouldn't be able to beat any of the others playing online, he'd get fucked everytime, which he wouldn't be able to handle.

Also, if he doesn't have the partience to get good at GTA 5, I don't even wanna think about how shit he must be at LoL.
