When skating around, if not actually flouting the doping laws (*spoiler, they did) the Eastern Bloc has shown it's a low priority to choose "women" who "pass". The brick shithouses that have grunted their way to a podium finish have often been technically correct, but aesthetically a PR disaster. China is following suit, and worldwide there is a likely a bank of athletes ready to qualify. This is actually a lengthy and rigorous procession through a calendar of national and international events. One of his favorite tactics is the "see a woman actually did something!" in an unrelated thing (often fights it seems) to try and prove some point about how that means he should be allowed to compete with women in bicycle racing.

Others, though, maintain that sport must strive to be as inclusive as possible and that, as things stand, there are very few trans women at the elite level. Rhys, once again, proves he has no idea what he's talking about. He's also referring to the Trans MMA fighter Fallon Fox.

A hand (made into a fist) is 27 small and thin bones all scrunched together with ligaments - there isn't a ton of density to speak of and it's a comparatively easy break to have for someone engaged in a fight. A finger bone is roughly (roughly) 1-2MM in density, compared to the the 7MM density of a typical female's skull. Meaning that during nearly any fist v skull interaction, the skull is expected to win (and won in the case Rhys is referencing).

What it does highlight, however, is how absolutely fucking bonkers it is that Fallon Fox was able to do real and serious bone damage to a woman's skull (which is thicker than a man's) - no doubt thanks to his "still a man's" hands and not break his own hand in the process. The only other skull injury I was able to find was against a man (with a 1MM thinner skull) who got savagely hit with a flying knee (the knee of course is a much thicker bone than a knuckle/hand).

Not only that, but MMA is a huge sport now - there's like 3 or 4 promotions running a full card every week, so, basically there's 15+ matches a week, every week, forever, and this shit still does not happen with any regularity. Sure, some eye sockets get hurt, arms/legs broken, but massive skull damage? Basically never.

In terms of "effort vs damage" Fallon Fox still has inflicted the worst injury on an opponent basically ever - with just a punch like he's a fucking DBZ villain. I'm sure it has nothing to do with his tremendous advantage of being a man, though.
