I think the more pressing question is WHY is that?

This is what happens when you tell your kids they are good at everything, they can do no wrong, and no matter what the world will love them for it. This is the end result of all those helicopter parents who think they are sheltering and protecting their child when in reality they are making it impossible for them to coexist with other people in a reasonable way. This is why parent's drink themselves into a grave because their kids turned out like this and it's mostly their fault and they finally realized all those years of 'saving them' from the horrors of the world turned them in a circus clown for the world to laugh and mock at.

Embracing Nihilism is going to be the crowning achievement of the generation after the millennials.

All that other stuff just isn't interesting to the casual viewer. Leonard French got big off of covering the H3H3 lawsuit and then the insanity surrounding Alex Mauer. Outside of cases like that, it's hard to draw in new viewers to this type of content and a channel that isn't growing is slowly dying.

Nick should ride the Vic wave for as long as he can because this'll be his future too.

Yeah, legal channels have sort of a niche audience to begin with. Comparing them to generic drama channels, gaming channels, and other channels with broader appeal really doesn't work.

I think he can still get that silver play button if he continues to find interesting topics, and he's in good with the Dickheads. Nick has done pretty phenomenal within his (mostly boring) genre.

Some convention owners are as bad as SJWs, and the problem with them is that they actually hold a modicum of power.
90% (at minimum) of convention owners really couldn't give 2 shits about Vic, at most they're just virtue signaling for any (or all) of a number of reasons. If Monica and everyone supporting her had 2 followers and Vic was a sure $500k to have him, most con owners would book him and kick Monica to the curb, guaranteed. The main reason you get the reverse is because (for take your pick of reasons) a large number of anime VAs are backing Monica and losing Vic is (in aggregate) a safer play than the reverse. (Ironically, the VAST majority of convention attendees really don't care either way, it's the tiny minority that's making noise about this)

My big issue right now is if you believe the allegations against Vic, 100%. Take it a step further and say everything that ever happened was non-consensual and he's a serial pedo-rapist. This particular course of action is mostly just a kabuki show. With the core anime convention demographic now being in the 13-20 range, you probably have a frightening number of predators walking around the thing that no one actually knows about because they're not famous. And that's before counting in the "fringe" celebrities like youtubers who've been found to be problematic and are becoming guests at conventions.

I agree

I've watched a few of his stuff a while back when he was just starting to do it, dude doesn't seem Twitter woke, and seemed like a pretty chill and nice guy. They was indeed pretty Highly informative. Which is why He not gaining as much traction as say nick.

Nick has entertaintment value, and French makes me sleepy.
Funnily enough, the first French video I saw was his coverage of the lawsuits against Purple Pillow. I'll be honest, most of it went over my head.

Guess what I was shopping for that week.

Hell, at a number of fury cons, they don't give a fuck if their guests are registered sex offenders. There's a segment of the public that is actively trying to normalize pedophilia, and some of them are on con staff.

It's frightening to think that's where anime cons might be in 20 years.

This is all about virtue signaling. Vic is bad because that's the woke position right now.

Cons can't be arsed to care about safety, except perhaps as it applies to the safety of high profile Japanese guests (because they'll spill the beans when they get back to Japan, and that could be fatal to a con's ability to get future Japanese guests).

While a lot of people were bothered with the defamation in this case, I was personally more disgusted with the TI Ron and Monica pulled.
At the heart of it, though, is the defamation. Even if the interference (with existing contracts) is its own tort, they used the vehicle of defamation to get the ball rolling.

It should be Ty's best chance to take both Funimation and Mo-ron down. Hell, funimation would have to clean house if they're successfully sued.

Honnestly, the damages can be redirected.
After the judge said that there was no TI, Ty could very well say that all cancelations and losts of future prospects are then the consequences of the defamation...

Here's the thing Furry Cons are just modren day Masquerades. You can put on a mask, and be what ever degenerate thing you want. They then forget that the reason it's a Masquerade is because Normal people don't want the shame of knowing they are into this shit, and everyone at it doesn't care about your past.

Then you get people who don't understand it at all, and try to explain away this degenerate shit, and make it normal. Stupid people ruin Okay things.

Big texas comic con is on sept 20th. Monica and Sabat will be there. So will Todd and Justin cook. Hope nobody gets all spergy on Sabat or monica.

I used to do a ton of cons and y'all wouldn't believe the number of people who are "liked and well respected" in the community that have arrest records and even been convicted of possession of CP, exploitation of minors, etc.

Nobody does anything because:

1. Money. Lotta people are money hungry and would rather have a pedo giving them money than do the right thing.

2. They don't care. Probably because they've run with some woke shit to make people believe they're good people and nobody questions their past.

3. They've been around since before the age of dinosaurs in the community and it isn't worth whistleblowing since nobody believes the claims even though you can literally Google search them.

One dude in particular from my area got party vanned after continuously doing dumb shit with an extensive record and hasn't been seen since. It's always a nice feeling knowing that a pedo was forced to disappear.

I think one of the more noteworthy cases was one of Dragoncon's founders being outed as a pedo but I could be remembering that wrong.
There was also the one guy at PAX East who gave roofies to like 30 chicks but ditched before he could do anything.

Most voice actors don't talk about the actually scary shit that happens at cons because they value money.

But yeah, Vic man bad and all for touching hair and eating a jellybean.
