💰 Grifter Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

In my personal opinion the writing has always been sub-par at best. Later seasons (season 4 and onward) made it painfully clear how much of a wasted potential each character was (Blake comes to mind first and I could go on a spergathon on this, but it's another tale for another time). I guess you could argue that RWBY kind of lost its soul when Monty died, but with his death nothing else was gained or lost.

The fandom and the haters being this much on the spectrum is an inevitability. Though in hindsight from what (little) I have seen they don't stand out that much when it comes to the 'tism compared to the fandoms of Avatar, Steven Universe or weebs as a whole.

Just like cancer is a medical fact of life we have to live with, so is shipping to a fandom. However, this is one of the few instances I've seen where the writers, and even the VA's, tease and encourage it. In the case of the writers the ship teasing is a way to compensate for their incompetence. The VAs are just autistic.

Hope I could help.

I don't actually hate RWBY either. I unironically wanted to like it since it has so many cool concepts and so much shit that's actually pretty metal at least on paper and in theory. It's the wasted potential due to Miles' and Kerry's incompetence that made me frustrated with the show.

I think we could give the show itself a thread in the Multimedia and both the fandom and Rooster Teeth in the Community Watch (if I am not mistaken a lot of homosexual faggotry has been going on behind the scenes of RWBY that aren't necessarily related to the Weeb Wars).
RWBY is actually pretty big in Japan. If anything and out of every player on the KickVic side to be weary of pulling some Gamergate/Comicsgate shit it would have to be RoosterTeeth. I'd like to know how the rest of the series post the graduation from Beacon Academy goes over with Japan. There's a manga adaptation too that's ongoing right now. Be weary.

And you're not wrong with the concepts. Monty really knew what the States likes out of anime and manga and had a grasp of the culture, which I feel helped contribute to its success when he was alive. Video game like concepts, that stuff.

I think there's a RoosterTeeth thread on KF already? Not too sure. Considering that the VAs are full blown "believe womyn always" drones, the series kind of needs its own thread. I've got a feeling that the series will cause another theater of the Weeb Wars, but that's just me.

Objection: anyone who watches anime is a faggot. Sub and dub.
Motherfucker, you're a Persona 5 fan. You already get shit from me from the Megami Tensei pecking order and you thinking that anime flavored video games makes you not a weeaboo. Get your head out of your ass and shape the fuck up.

On a small unrelated note, I'd love Viz to start dubbing the "Thus Spoke Rohan Kishibe" OVAs and bring Vic along. Just to see the fandom burn.
(And just so we're clear, the JoJo fandom as a whole is quite chill, but the loudest voices from it, especially from Twitter and YouTube, are a bunch of morons)
You have said RYWB's main thing people watch it for are the fights, so it's only expected that the Loudest Dumbs Dumbs flock to it, like Kiwi's to a cow. If you can turn your brain off and enjoy, then they don't have to worry that people who take plot seriously will berate them, and they can expect like minded Spergs to Mimic what they think. It's also why I don't like talking about DBZ as you get a lot of those people, along with the spergs who have OC's.

Is it still? As far as I was aware, RWBY was popular up to Volume 3's run, but afterwards fell off flat, so much that Volume 4 and further have no JP dub

The only thing I've heard from Jojo fans was that you're not allowed to skip any part of the series.

I think the fandom gets rallied up for nothing in that one a lot. I find it's "fine" if you want to skip parts so long you're willing to go back and watch.

Obviously, is recommended to begin from Part 1 and go on, since you won't need to be spoon fed some of the characters/in-universe mechanics background. But it's easy to get into, since the stories told are to some degree self-contained, I wholeheartedly recommend the series.

Since so many of you are discouraged, we have a gift for you.

I considered sending this package to Quarterpounder, considering how much he loves Ghostbusters 2016... but, I wouldn't even wish this kind of horror on him.

Is this the thing @Captain Manning was hinting at?

Yep.

Told you it would be good.

They would qualify for a thread even if WW never happened. Diaperfur, troon, Deviantart, underserved self importance... it checks all the boxes.

The fact that they were talking shit just made them light up like a blowtorch amid all the other autism.
