And the idea that Yaniv delusionally boasting about being buddies with the cops somehow creates a conflict of interest that would cause the RCMP to bring in people from another detachment is laughable.
Yaniv delusionally boasting it doesn't create a conflict of interest, but if there is any truth to it, that they have in fact repeatedly found him committing crimes and their response was basically "okay you keep doing that then," it does create the impression that they misled him into thinking his behavior was allowed.
For whatever reason, they didn't want these local clowns involved in the process. I'm not sure why. Maybe they even thought they'd actively botch the search warrant or pretend not to have found things. It's absolutely inexplicable how those morons have shown up every couple nights for seemingly weeks and done nothing.
RCMP take the place of local police forces that don't have them. That doesn't change the fact that they are federal officers. They don't get demoted or lose federal jurisdiction.
It doesn't have to be a jurisdictional issue. It could be a specialization issue. For some reason, the locals stood guard waiting for someone else to show up. Why?
Jon told the National Post that cops were posted at his condo since it was left unlocked in his sudden absence. Basically, to guard it for him.
I call absolute bull fucking shit on that. I seriously doubt RCMP ever have duty to guard some sped's apartment. They were there to keep him from going in and tampering with the scene because they know what this moron is all about. I know in the U.S., it's not at all uncommon for the cops to smash your front door in and to come back home to find burglars cut the police line and cleaned it out after they left.
Cops don't give one single shit.
However, considering the actual start, it might begin in the lower court, but if he was released on a PTA, they'll likely juggle it into Supreme, in which case there'll probably be a Publication Ban.
Good luck with that publication ban. How are those working out for you Canada?
He had a Macbook, right? Encrypting that shit is even easier in a Mac than it is in Win 7/10 (bitlocker). And didn't Apple just have a case w/a mass murderer where they were like no, we have no tech to crack someone's pin and if we didn't it's not going to LE?
They went to court and got an order to Apple to break the encryption. And Apple appealed and told them to fuck off. Then after some more squabbling, they got some third party to crack it for them, so apparently they could have actually just done that all along and were lying to the court in the first place. It was about the San Bernardino shooters.
So if the glowbois want you they're going to get you but I doubt they'd crack out that kind of tech for some pedo troon with a tazer.
