They are obviously thirsty for some kind of victory. At this point, they're reduced to fabricating them and fiending off the tiny dopamine hits from the paltry number of "likes" their tweets get.

Yeah, it's not like this behavior can be used to argue that their very nature is malicious, such that it would blow through any public figure defense.

This is specific and relevant to the motion how? It's the very definition of a wide ranging fishing expedition with no basis for it but REEEEE REEE the plaintiff isn't allowed to have money. This is a non-starter, it's itself frivolous. Look how it worked for Gawker whining that Peter Thiel bankrolled Hulk Hogan to curb stomp them. The court isn't going to give a shit.

actually that's a good point. legally, it's been established people can bankroll others thanks to that case and despite that they aren't relevant to the case. soo....

casey is really fucked. their only hope is to literally extort/blackmail gfm. and if they do... well nick can find other payment venues, including having a paypal funnel money to the account and linking it on every stream.

So for the record they have no idea who this woman is/ posted a random picture from her social media thus roping her into this mess/ and are attempting to make some statement about how amoral he is for allegedly cheating on his partner with a significantyl younger individual and then using his power to get her some roles in funimation. That last point doesn't even have a leg to stand on with Tatum still being an employee at funimation.

IMO. It probably boils down to them wanting to strike back at Nick and the only way they could was by doxing him. It's not really about the content they'll get from him because someone on their side has to know that Nick has an understanding of the law and will fight/ make them spend a hefty amount of cash to get it from him. The gofundme aggravates them but not so much as Nick himself, it's more a scapegoat.

Nick has young kids. A PO Box and an Office that provided some level of buffer between his online presence and his family. This was very likely an threat veiled in legal procedure. It's a bit like how they wanted Vic to lay down and die, they wanted to frighten Nick and hope that such an action would shut him up.
