2. The Free tuition directive ignores the living expenses of students, which consists of more than half of an average student's budget, thus poor students will still struggle and be discouraged from attending college.
3. If Free tuition only applies to community colleges, poor students who are academically superior might resort to go there instead of say Princeton. Research has shown that these student will have a lesser chance of successfully completing a 4-year college course, compared with those who enrolled in a 4-year college from the start.
4. Tax money should be spent on those in real need, instead of blanket, feels-good, charity.
