What in the HELL has knitting have to do with politics? I could understand a gaming or entertainment forum going full TDS Exceptional since media often reflects politics or pushes political narratives. I could even understand a coding/programmer's site getting TDS since programs are used so often in the crafting of media and propaganda.
But knitting and crocheting? Other than the making of Pussy Hats, what has crafting have to do with politics? Is this because Mommybloggers who are rich enough to afford 30 dollar skeins of merino wool yarn are more likely to be Liberal? Is this all because of one deranged SJW who stumbled upon the site and made it her personal crusade to take it over and weaponize it against Trumpemort's Army? I do a little crafting here and there and have used Ravelry patterns in the past, but at no time have I ever thought, "Hm. I want to get the latest Hot Political Takes. I know! I'll go to the same place where I get my doily patterns!"
Fuck these people. Non-political, escapist shit should stay escapist and non-political.

Sadly, now that centrism is a bad thing to the left, it's their solemn duty to gatekeep every hobby and every form of entertainment so that those who won't back the right side of history, much less be a brain-dead DRUMPF fan can't have ANY fun at ALL until they shape up and LIVE RIGHT.
