That's somewhat standard in a large number of divorces, it's only temporary.
But that's the problem, they've already rented this house for years, Projared's career was dead 6 months ago letalone now and now theres even less money with Heidi leaving.
I don't see why they couldn't have started to lease in 2015 when money was pouring in.

They avoid cosplaying as women characters though, they even have a post about how they've avoided it because it bothered them to do it or some other stupid shit.
Also with cosplaying as a business, you might not like sucking assholes as a hooker, but by god you see enough fresh 100's from the atm you're gonna suck an asshole or two.

I can't exactly figure out the male:female cosplay ratio since the loser on lolcow mouthed off to nulyu but I think there were more male cosplays.

Short Answer - Youtubers aren't know to be good with money.
Long Answer - Jared's career wasn't over by any stretch, even if he was less prolific on youtube he was apparently pretty active on twitch (and had some official ties to Wizards of the Coast, among others). Jared hasn't been shown to be exceptionally smart but we can at least assume he was smart enough to put effort in to wherever the most money was coming from and after all the youtube ad shenanigans he probably decided to focus more on live/stream stuff. It's a move you see a lot of content creators moving to (or Patreon for the YouTube diehards).
Even if he were to "retire" from youtube, there's a ton of "youtube-adjacent" careers he could have slipped into very easily - such as any MCN or content network (like Rooster Teeth or NormalBoots) or even just being a consultant. There's tons of cash sprawling around that space and no real reason to think that the cash flow would slow down.
Until he announced his divorce from his wife on twitter not long after she found out he was still living the poly life behind her back, setting off a chain of events that will likely have all three of them marked as "extremely bad for brands" for a long time.
EDIT - He also doesn't have Jontron's talent/balls/dedicated fans to even try and bounce back either.

As someone with geeky hobbies myself I don't understand why "nerds" are so fucking dysfunctional.

Unless you're someone like an old D&D grognard. Unless you have friends/siblings to play with, you're either forced to play with these new wave of deviants or not enjoy your hobby at all.
On topic...man, up to this point I had been kinda rooting for Heidi. But they're all just terrible people. Looking forward to the next exciting episode of this circus act.

You don't understand because you have geeky hobbies. People with geeky hobbies aren't the problem.
It's people who take the hobbies and turn it into cornerstones of their lives. The "famous" people (in this thread, Holly/Jared/Heidi) turned geeky hobbies into full time careers and didn't seem to have anything resembling a backup plan so they're trapped in it where as the "non famous" people have built hobbies into their lives are too autistic to just stop.
It isn't just "geeky" hobbies, it's most hobbies taken too far always turn into this.
