💰 Grifter Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

What possible angle do they have that they can use against Nick? He's already tried, and failed, multiple times to get him disbarred and the worst thing Nick has ever called him is Soye.
The only thing I can think of is the KC rant he did where he named Toye, Rial and Sabat as the people pressuring the Con to drop Vic. But Nick says he has multiple sources so that will probably end badly for Toye to try that route also.

Honestly I am just gonna say that Soye boy is bluffing to attempt to get nick to go silent on youtube and twitter because nick makes him look really bad to 1000s of people. He may also just be blowing a bunch of hot air because he knows he is fucked, but cannot stop. Stopping means admitting defeat.

I just want to remind everyone about Lord Beard's last appearance on Rekt's show when he said (paraphrased) 'We'll play as nice with them as they want to play."

So how many tweets since that show has Ronnie and Co. have just maintained business as usual? I don't think there's going to be a lot of playing nice coming back at them.

Folks, I really wouldn't put too much stock in someone's name not appearing on an Amazon or iTunes listing being an example of malicious intent by Funimation. Those things usually only list a few names anyway, and who knows how they're picked - whether by an algorithm or manually.

Also, totally backseat moderating: The Brad Wiedenheft case and his actions leading up to it really have nothing to do with Weeb Wars outside of showing some potential hypocrisy by Sarah, and that point has been made. Could further discussion, if necessary, be done in another thread?

I'm pretty sure he was referring to Ron's lawyer/legal team, not the defendants themselves. And so far we haven't seen any evidence that that Casey fellow isn't being professional; just perhaps a potential inability to reel in his client's actions.

That's completely unbelievable.

I'd imagine that since they have a lawyer now, that lawyer is either unwilling or unable to rein them in. Either way thats not 'playing nice' when the damage to Vic continues unabated.

Thank God Ronnie Boy only has to prove in court the 20 years of documented harassment by Vic he has been parroting. Case over, Ty should Pack his bags and beg for forgiveness.

Ty said something specifically multiple times about how he will stop talking about it openly if they stop talking about it openly
Obviously not meaning Ron's lawyer but the defendants
Thinking that may be why Ron was just retweeting and liking posts for a bit instead of posting. Guess he decided to give up on the facade when realizing that would not work.

Lawyer either is unaware until tomorrow of what is going on, or just going to let it go and hope he can talk them into settling since it is past the point of them winning the lawsuit. That or Mr. Eric thinks he will be able to get a sympathetic jury somehow and so does not want to risk his client firing him over telling him to shut up(that one is a stretch though)

I'm thinking he's unaware since the case was filed at the last minute before a 3 day weekend. I imagine that he's at home, enjoying Easter with his family, blissfully unaware of the 20lb Laser Guided Beard Bomb sitting on his desk. I'd love to see his reaction tomorrow.

That is complete and utter bullshit. Nick went over this. It's submitted by, and edited by, the IP holder/distributor. Nick even got a reply from Funimation on this.

As for maliciousness: Yeah, only Todd and Vic seem to have their names dropped. Must be total coincidence. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Also, totally backseat moderating: The Brad Wiedenheft case and his actions leading up to it really have nothing to do with Weeb Wars outside of showing some potential hypocrisy by Sarah, and that point has been made. Could further discussion, if necessary, be done in another thread?

Pretty sure her relevance has been decided.

@emspex doxed Sarah and her brother in this thread. Sarah is one of the pokeballs (formerly skulls), and she talks about her brother in that post. So I consider fair game in the general thread as long as that remains the case.

Now, if she wants to move that post into a separate thread (as she did with Shane, Monica, the Blue Orca, etc), I would certainly take that as in indication she wants it moved out.

I don't make the rules. I just try my best to follow them.

We haven't even discussed it that much (we're also in a bit of a lull right now given the lawsuit has been filed and we've got a lot of time before replies need to be filed).

He's aware. He said he would accept service of that Beard bomb.

La Choy is always bluffing. Remember, Nick made a video to make the case that it's not safe for men to be around Monica, and La Choy said that Nick had 48 hours to retract the video. He said this behind his protected account, so Nick couldn't see shit.

Nick is not retarded like La Choy. If Nick has sources, I'm inclined to believe him, since he is apparently right about Kameha Con, its contract, and the jellybean story before it was officially confirmed. The only thing he has been wrong about was the date the lawsuits were filed because new information came up. People who dismiss Nick as some drunk YouTuber are denying reality.

Folks, I really wouldn't put too much stock in someone's name not appearing on an Amazon or iTunes listing being an example of malicious intent by Funimation. Those things usually only list a few names anyway, and who knows how they're picked - whether by an algorithm or manually.

I would. Amazon nor iTunes make mistakes in casting like this. Nick even called the Apple store up to confirm that.

And that's not even the meat and potatoes of that whole debacle. Funimation took Vic's Q&A out of the Broly DVD, despite it being advertised on Amazon and despite the Q&A being on IGN's YouTube channel for people to see, along with the others, from what I can tell, and Funimation (correct me if I'm wrong here) has not responded to this criticism.

Something tells that the first thing this guy will do once he gets the lawsuit papers is settle. If this lawyer is competent, he wouldn't go through 400 pages worth of defamation along with explanations to why the tweets are defamatory, along with the other baggage this crazy couple has.

Would look REAL bad if a VA stood by her CP owning brother yet torched Vic at the steak
Don't forget Funimation also previously stood by a VA for CP (Scott Freeman) only putting him on leave/suspension/whatever until found guilty in court, which looks less like a firing and more like he can't do the job because of 10-20 years in jail. Likely they wanted to avoid that situation again, but it won't look good to a jury if it comes up in deposition.
I also predict sites like ANN and Polygon will do hit pieces for a while (few years) afterwards, just to keep "Vic, who was accused of sexual misconduct..." in the papers out of spite.
Hopefully a ANN suit is still upcoming and they get purged from the internet after losing. Somebody found them making $70-90k a year before expenses, so a nice big juicy lawsuit would likely bury them for good.
Obviously, this is still just a theory and should be taken with a huge grain of salt. What do you all think?
Common theory that's been floated a bunch. It seems reasonable that the first investigation was kicked off in an attempt to remove Vic from his character.
That's completely unbelievable.
I think @BigNinjaDaddy found Todd's name missing since late last year, before any of this started with him. Vic's name being off the Broly DVD, itunes and then added as a new actor profile is unbelievable, but not in the way you meant.

He's aware. He said he would accept service of that Beard bomb.
He's aware he's receiving service, not the contents thereof.

"Stacey WTF is on my desk?"
"Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al"
"No, Stacey, I'm talking about the 20lb box on my desk"
"Yes, that's Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al"

I'm pretty sure he'd have to have Ron adjudicated as mentally incompetent before he'd be able to settle. Ron's 100% willing to die on this hill.

Another thing
Todd is the MAIN CHARACTER in Free!
He's ON THE BOX
You cant tell me you named fujobait number three four and five and completely forgot to add the main and secondary character (let's be honest, Vic's character has the second most screentime)
What are the chances of them removing two of the star characters on their list that just so happen to currently have FUNi VAs attacking them?
There is a reason why when people were mad at iTunes, iTunes promptly pointed the blame on Funi giving them directions

I agree with Nick that Ron probably had his consultation, and was left with a "talk with me when you are being sued"

Since the lawsuit dropped, Ron probably phoned up, wired some cash over for the retainer and then they have been at SakuraCon this weekend. There is absolutely no way he has had a chance to sit down and talk to his lawyer properly yet, the lawyer probably still hasn't seen the 20lb ream yet unless Ron managed to courier it over before they left, and possibly doesn't even know it exists at this point.

Any threats Ron makes is done before he has given them a chance to actually look into it to see if he has a case, because they are certainly not going to bother doing that before they are being paid for it.

I'm pretty sure he was referring to Ron's lawyer/legal team, not the defendants themselves. And so far we haven't seen any evidence that that Casey fellow isn't being professional; just perhaps a potential inability to reel in his client's actions.
Ty said that he would play nice as long as opposing council was professional and kept their clients under control. As far as we know, Casey hasn't had any problems with the first part. As for the second part, have you checked Ron's twitter today?
