So there was a single investigation (around Jan 24th). It was by Sony. And Sony fired Vic after it a few days later. The Feb 11th announcement came 2 weeks after Vic had already been fired.

Edit: To be clear, that means the ENTIRE Funimation tweet thread was unneeded. THE ONLY THING THEY HAD TO DO IS SAY NOTHING.

And they couldn't help but virtue signal, and it's going to cost them millions of dollars.

Keep in mind that the petition said he "was terminated", not that Sony terminated Vic.

I haven't seen the movie, but technically the suit just says he's the "lead character" which is different from the main character, who is normally the POV.

They were literally "speculating" (read: being retarded) earlier in the week that this didn't get filed on Monday because the clerk rejected it for being a bad case, and they would have to rewrite it.

They may not understand legal terminology but npc.dat tells them that anything described as a "conspiracy" is nonsense to be ridiculed and that the accuser is stupid/crazy. Calling Ron an agent further justifies this as that means Vic et al think funi is the illuminati or something.

Between both this lawsuit and the Mueller report finally dropping, this day has generated enough salt to fill a fucking ocean.
