Can't imagine Winn-Lee being able to even act like she has depth and intelligence for a role like Cortana.

Is this sarcasm or is she actually prolific? I've only heard her in Persona 4 (and she was my least favourite character and voice in that game) and the "HD" Silent Hill 3 (where she was the (*edit: second) most annoying voice in any Silent Hill game I've ever heard, and that's including the robots from the first game and whatever Lisa's VA from Origins thought she was doing but maybe I'm just being hyperbolic).

*Forgot about Earnest Baldwin in the original Born from a Wish, who's actually the worst voice-acted character in all of the SIlent Hill games.

I think the HD collection really shows how limited most of those actors range is compared to essentially a bunch of nobdies (outside of Donna Burke) in the original releases. Absolutely can't stand Troy Baker, McGlynn and Yuri Lowenthal in it.

Who knows if he's practically a carbon copy of his wife, but at this point I'm thinking he was just that smart enough to stay off the Internet, and maybe he doesn't want to know of the antics Amanda gets up to or is secretly supporting her behind the scenes.

When Revolution 60 first was entering development, It was 100% Wu's work. Unfortunately, as evidenced by her Socially Unconscious: The Election Eve manuscript, Wu is a fucking horrible writer, and her original concept, alleged by someone claiming to be former staff of Wu's, basically was a Mass Effect ripoff with the plot of Election Eve stretched over it. The original story for Election Eve quite literally is a gigantic Sailor Moon reference interspersed with nonsensical storylines that would not go amiss in a completely comedic story. Suffice to say, while Wu thought this idea was just baller, Frank managed to convince her that going with that just wasn't a good idea. Caroline VanEsteltine did massive, sweeping lore and character re-writes that basically made the world of the setting even remotely interesting, and almost everything good about the world Revolution 60 sets up (and there's some good stuff in there) can be mostly attributed to these re-writes, with one exception: The Dialogue. When Wu managed to get Amanda Winn-Lee involved, Wu also got her to help re-write dialogue and did some editing work too. Originally Crimson 09 was dressed far less conservatively (because this is Wu's fetish), and when Winn-Lee ab-libbed some better dialogue into the game, Wu loved it so much she had Winn-Lee do additional writing work. A lot of the dialogue was improved by this but Wu's thumbprint is still visible on most of it.

Humorously, Winn-Lee is not the most skilled voice-actress in Revolution 60. That award goes to Jill Melancon, who is easily the most talented individual in the game because she's both good and can convincingly emote. Tragically, she has done literally nothing else since then.

Winn-Lee is also famous/infamous in some fan circles for antics at various cons in the late 90's, most of them involving alcohol. Despite being best known for voicing Rei, it's amusing to note that she has a lot more in common with Misato Katsuragi. She's famous for being very foul mouthed and also very funny (she's the person in the room most likely to crack an utterly hilarious dirty joke, but one that you dare not repeat in polite company - just listen to her audio commentaries).

The thing about those three isn't even that the voice-acting is bad - some of it is - but all of the HD collection's VAs all are borderline comedically miscast. Yuri Lowenthal is not a voice-actor you choose when you need subtlety in a performance, you choose him when you need to King Lear a scene or go full ham. So naturally the brain trust behind the HD collection chooses him for Father Vincent. Liam O'Brien is fucking amazing as a voice-actor who does best with roles that allow him to be broody or emotionally-driven, so they choose him to be Eddie. There are joke dubs on Youtubes with more competent casting choices than this.

No, I wasn’t recording or anything. I hadn’t heard about his reputation prior to that, so I didn’t think to. It’s fine if you don’t believe me, it doesn’t really change anything, but I know what I saw.

The cringy memories are coming back. Kind of skimmed it to hear her explanation of adding silly sound effects again and instead found her going on about Rei's ass.
