Which literally happened here. This raises my eyebrow the most, as how can you say "I don't keep track of donations" when those $200 literally exploded in his face. It's not a matter of counting, it's just acknowledging he got the money. Everything to do nothing and be a rebel, as deconstructive and illogical it is.

He might not want his legacy to tries his best to make it fall.

Also the time it took him to acknowledge it and during a chill as swinecraft stream so he could organize and then every other time too. Also never once went into his phone to check the PayPal to make sure it was real. He knew it was coming IMO.

Let us not forget the other blatant lie from yesterday (the day before? Can’t keep track of this shit) where he was talking about anonymous tips and claimed that even with normal tips through PayPal/Muxy he only sees the users email, not their details. A massive falsehood, if that was the case how did wings doxx a chargeback fheg?

I am a bit outdated, but is planetjeff the new paypig? It seems Phil always finds one of these to save his life during his begathons. I remember last year or two years ago was Vidar Viking, before there was another one that I forgot the name, but people though he was Fred Fuchs all along. Well, DSP will always be safe if people like that keep showing up on his streams.

I also gave a though about Phil's situation. I don't understand how he claims to be always in debt, that he needs money to pay his taxes (state and federal), but, don't people usually pay their taxes monthly? Why does he pay his taxes twice a year and need an absurd amount of money for that?

I think he is lying about taxes, I think he actually has a lot of money, I mean, he always buys the newly released games, he lives in a big house, pays for two mortgages, buys lot of stuff (hoarding). I think DSP is actually "hoarding" money too, maybe in an attempt to have some kind of retirement pension, since he won't be able to actually retire as he doesn't really work. I may be wrong though, just a thought.

No, planetjeff has been around. As pointed out by someone else, he's been a Patron since 2015, and he has historically showed up no more than once a month, but he always dropped a large tip (typically $200 or so).

...and yet if he would cease to make such a big deal about it and dare I say dab as the outward expression of exuberance it originally was in response to success at the urging of his chat the 'tractors' would lose their ability to taunt him. He's not taunted for his dabing. He's taunted for getting caught dabing after having made such a fuss about refusing to dab.

In the US, folks who work for others have a percentage taken out of their paychecks to pay their taxes. They file their taxes at the end of the year to see if they will receive a refund for paying too much over the course of the year or owe money due to not having enough taken out over the course of the year.

Folks who work for themselves normally pay their taxes quarterly so that they do not see themselves in D$P's situ of owing a lump sum they could have paid in parts....and might get a refund for paying too much after all the totals are tallied of earnings and expenses. Now we have only D$P claiming to have not paid quarterly. He claims to have not paid quarterly years previous, but wasn't begging for the $16K-$20k he claims he needs the months of Dec-April those years. What changed? He got caught not paying State B&O taxes, told folks about this and had upwards of 5K thrown at him on top of his normal monthly haul. D$P's Back Taxes windfall was too successful to not go back for a double dip as he does most things that involve money ( ie $1250 Pay-me-tons events he would double dip with YT monies before and after cheering/Tipping was a thing on Twitch...which is why he went back to Twitch to triple/quadruple dip the 6hr he 'works' a day ).

You and I are among a minority who believe this. I will offer for my part that his first Accountant was a family friend. A person such as this, seeing their client suddenly bringing in a 6 figure income in their mid twenties would most assuredly advise their client to put a portion of that income aside...for a house, the future, retirement. D$P was, at this time taking in 6 figures and yet he harped on and on about Views, views, views. He was as that time on a 'Pay-per-view' contract with Machinma. Racking up 7-12 Million views a month, why else would a young, single man be so fixated on this number of views and whine about it not being enough if not that a portion of his earnings were being funneled off into a savings plan for his future set up by his accountant and D$P wanted as much of that sweet, sweet YT monies 'right away' that he could squeeze out of his audience as to offset what this 'book smart' jerk ( and most likely his parents as well ) insisted on taking from his paycheck before he got to spend it. I wager D$P has an IRA portfolio worth more than most of us will ever see in our lifetime.

Why might he beg so fervently now? That money is in an IRA he can't draw from without a sizable penalty. I have no doubt he is making less from YT and Pay-me-tons. His Twitch, however had made up for that with regular growth from $5k-$9k+/ month. I fear, however, that for the moment D$P has had his bluff called post Tut and E7 windfalls. In time these will be forgotten as old names are replaced by new ones and D$P rewrites his 10 Year legacy to best suit what he needs it to be atm.

I think the strongest argument against this is when a few months back he accidentally "lost" money by overpaying a bill, which would only happen if he was already deep in the hole with that particular creditor, and they applied it all to his back balance.
If he were really hoarding up massive amounts of money in secret, I don't think he'd choose to live that way.

I also believe he's got money set aside, and that his grand master plan is to beg nonstop for as long as the gravy train rolls in, then rest on his laurels with his diehards until everyone is gone, and by then he'll have enough to retire (at least as long as he can sustain his lifestyle, which I assume wouldn't be long before he makes his 'darksydephil 20-year legacy triumphant return to the world of video games!').

The funny part about DSP's strategy is that while he thinks he's pulling a 4,000IQ bigbrain scheme, the truly intelligent strategy would be leveraging his built-in 300-400 viewers to his advantage by playing games with little-to-no competition, ensuring that he's sitting at or near the top of the list for that particular game, and vacuuming up all the casual viewers. If he could convert even 10% of these viewers into regulars, he would be growing at a great rate. He's got the starting point that other wannabe career streamers dream of, and of course he can't see that because he's a horribly negative narcissist who has disdain for every one of his viewers. So he's got this little whale scam going, which is working out pretty well for him (though depending on one retard stumbling into your stream and 'saving' you all the time is not a wise strategy from Mr. Business Degree), but there's a much better strategy staring him in the face that would result in more sustainable long-term growth, but it would take way too much work. He's just too busy, dood.

Is that the reason though? We all know he tracks this stuff. He stops game play and manually updates tips, bits and subs. All of that being automated would do is make it so he personally doesn't have to worry about it. He doesn't need to show total tips if he doesn't want to. It can just show all the lastest subs, donos and bits. I don't believe for a second it's got anything to do with hiding anything. I think it's just him being a contrarian for the sake of it. Same with how long it took to go direct capture. I mean we see everything on screen anyway, subs show up, donos show up and so do bits.

That way he could carry on game play, just glance at the screen and thank the person who did whatever.

It's possible it's just Phil being a contrarian, but it feels like an odd line in the sand to draw. Him not displaying tips or donations at all I could understand, because that's something other streamers do is very much something Phil would do just so he could claim he's not a shill. But, having them displayed and just manually updating them versus doing automated isn't any different aside from it being inefficient. Phil has some pretty out there logic though, so I guess it is possible.

I just think he likes to hide things because he's been very slow to update the totals in the past, usually only doing so if enough people in chat pointed it out, or trying to argue a donation didn't count because the person might have had a detractor name or was referencing a meme or something. Phil has definitely complained in the past though in the Tut days about how Tut actually hurt his channel because now people weren't going to donate because they think Phil is all set from all the gift subs. The failed phishing scam also had hints of Phil suggesting he was okay receiving behind the scene donations so he didn't have to let people know about it, or at the very least acknowledging it by saying an anonymous donation without mentioning how much/what was donated.

I do agree it is stupid because it all shows up on screen anyway, which is how Phil has been called out in the past for not properly updating things. Honestly, it is just as possible Phil really is lazy and only half-assed putting up highest tipper and cheer and all that because he saw other streamers doing it successfully, not realizing it works for other streamers because they offer incentives. Phil did this in his earlier days too by trying to encourage bit wars, again not realizing that while other channels did this too, there was some perk like the top person who cheered getting a character named after them. Phil's pretty technologically incompetent as well, so I could see setting up an automated system being too much for him, even if it makes his job way easier.

I think the answer is much more simpler than that. He's just too dumb and/or lazy to figure out how to automate it. This is the same guy who was pointing a camera at his tv to capture gameplay footage just a few years ago.
