To be fair, it’s not a literal eggshell skull. There’s a legal doctrine called “the eggshell plaintiff,” which is basically the law’s “take em as you find em” rule. Not every person is in the same health, so for some people, a blow to the knee will cause a bruise, whereas for other people it will create the need for a total knee replacement. Whoever wrongfully hit that person’s knee is responsible for the TKR, even though a “normal” person would only have had a bruise, because you take em as you find em, and some people are just more brittle than others. You still have to pay all the resulting damages if you’re found negligent. This is also true for people with pre-existing spinal injuries getting into car wrecks and shit like that.

Russ isn’t an eggshell plaintiff, though. Not on account of his disability, anyway. And especially since no one’s done anything legally actionable to him. The only eggshells to worry about with Russ are the ones you have to walk on with any narcissist to appease their fancies.

The tightening head thing can probably be explained by increased intracranial pressure as the result of undue stress he puts on himself when he sets totally unattainable goals and doesn’t reach them. Even normal people when put under extreme stress can experience ICP and eye pressure spikes that leave them with unreliable vision.
