Contracts are tricky little things, especially when it comes to changing them. Considering how quick this went, if it was stipulated in contracts, then it'd take time to modify the contracts or even get clauses.

If anything, it'd probably be stuff like professional courtesy. Ya know, keep your trap shut since you're in the same business and if you ruin the image of the company, then you're out of a job. Then again, I'm under the mind that there are people who are just jumping on this to look like the shining moral guardians.

Or about how some VAs are trying to get Vic's roles. Got some vultures already circling the corpse.

But they’re already making themselves look bad now by only outing Vic when there’s public outcry towards him despite it being an open secret in the industry for two decades. It seems like they’re just trying to cover their asses and virtue signaling so people don’t start to look to them to ask if they knew about this all this time but just didn’t say anything. It’s shady as fuck for both the VA industry as a whole and Funimation/RoosterTeeth.

That is true, but wouldn't it be easiest to not say anything at all? After all, the man's already fired, no need for each and every individual actor working there to put out their own take saying "yeah I covered it up and I'm ashamed of that but it's totally true" especially if it wasn't. Then they just all look like jackasses for no reason, so it can't be for the social clout. They really don't have anything more to gain by committing to throwing him under the bus but they still did.

It just seems easier to believe it was a cover-up they're remorseful about now that the hens have come home to roost, rather than an elaborate conspiracy to eject an absolute fossil from the industry to steal his role as 'main guy on ugly psuedo anime' or '1000th dragon ball dub'.

I don't think they're kicking him out so they can swoop in and get his roles, they're pretty clearly going along with the current popular viewpoint of Vic being a creepy asshole for all these years as a way to distance themselves away from him. I will say that the timing with this controversy only happening after Broly released in theaters is a bit interesting, though.

I’m not too familiar with VA industry contracts but I kinda doubt there’s anything in there that bars them from ever complaining about another VAs illegal sexual advances towards minors, especially considering they’re only now doing it due to public backlash. Even if there is that still essentially makes them accessories.

You're actually quite right but it has something to do with the funimation's personal policy records when discussing employees. However, the main issue is that Vic's actions were always a known secret similar to the whole "couch casting" urban legend in the world of acting. They been knowing this, I'm pretty sure the Funimation's main shareholders and many other investors and sponsors have finally caught wind of these rumors for quite a long time.
