And that's the definition of feminine power, isn't it? Which is actually not good or bad in and of itself. It's natural.

What's not natural is convincing women they're powerless and oppressed because they don't all have masculine power... while they destroy mens' lives with mere accusations... and keep denying they have any power as people congratulate them for their "bravery."

I don't know if it's actually accurate, but I see many things in terms of masculine and feminine, and I think we're best off as a species when each sex keeps the other's worst impulses in control. We evolved to do that. And I don't think that's happening anymore in the West.

The real feminine power has always been women's capacity to give birth. When a man woos a woman what he's saying is something like "I want you, not others, to have my children". Why Feminism has become all over the place, as well as society? Most men and women are able to find a partner to have children with but there are some women of the specie who cannot: they can biologically have babies but they can't find someone who would do it with them for many reasons and they find solace in Feminism, which is an ideology that encourages women to go against their own natural needs. Why is society so messy? Because the goal of any living being is to carry on with the species to pass them their own genes. The goal of feminism is totally the opposite. People now have lost their biologically purpose.

Well, don't forget they're mined by slaves who are brutally punished for misbehaving. Oh, and price fixed by the same company using that slave labor. But it's ok, they bribed the right people so it's totally on the up and up...

The funny thing is we can make diamonds, so if you like how they look, you can buy a huge manmade one for like 50 bux. And the manmade ones are almost indistinguishable from natural ones, except they're too perfect.

It is funny they're back on global warming again. We had... what... about a 3 month break? Now we're in a cold winter, so they have to remind us about it. Maybe they want to harp on the paris agreement some more?

I heard a young couple having a discussion about diamond engagement rights. The bim was saying how she wouldn't settle for anything less than 2 carats, and the dude tried to explain to her about DeBeers and the price fixing, and he told her about the man-made diamonds, and the bim actually argued in reply that she would never accept a man-made diamond, because she would only wear, and I quote, "an organic diamond".

At least she's showing how dumb and materialistic she is before they're married.

I don't know if this counts as climate change, but I've noticed in my 20-something years, the seasonal weather seems to have shifted a bit - wintery weather seems more common in Jan-March than Nov-Jan ?
It's not just you. I've started wondering if tiny discontinuities between our calendar and the actual trip-around-the-sun have started to add up enough to make things drift a bit out of sync.

I agree with a lot of this, but I don't agree on there being significant numbers of women who can't find mates. Barring some (truly sad and unfortunate) cases, almost any woman can find multiple guys who want to at least sleep with them. They may not be males models, but they are out there in large numbers. I see "unfuckable" women everywhere who are with guys who want them, more often now that morbid obesity is a major Western problem.

I think women who are drawn to the extreme messages of destructive, anti-male feminism (distinct from genuinely useful feminism) are often damaged people. They could find mates, but for certain (probably trauma-based) reasons they have taken themselves out of the game. They're a lot like male "incels," the majority of which, I am convinced, feel like shit about themselves and are not really trying. And like incels, they're drawn in by the always seductive belief that all their problems are caused by the external world.

The pathologization of childbirth is a serious problem, though. Having kids isn't just an example of female power, it's the most important thing imaginable for any member of the species. Having kids is optional for the individual, but it is not optional for the entire population. Yet more and more people are opting out of the most important thing they could ever do in favor of things that, though meaningful to them, won't be meaningful long-term. Or they're starting to have children far too late in life to, collectively, match population replacement numbers. It's frightening.

Heh, well... I know what you mean, but I'd think that would be pretty noticeable. You'd just have to shift the chart of average temperatures a bit left or right on the timeline to get it to line up. Also, I think we'd notice something like that astrologically. I think we have a pretty darn good handle on how long the earth's orbit is.

Yeah, evolution favors irresponsible people who cannot manage birth control over people who are smart about reproduction. It's an annoying biological reality...

She completely deserves for him to get her a fake diamond glass ring tbh

Hashtag thoughtful rating - The trip around the sun doesn't directly correspond with our calendars, or we wouldn't need leap years. I guess it is possible the extra days (or missing days, I'm not quite sure!) make it so our calendars are "wrong"

What's your point here? Are you saying that not having kids can cause a decrease in population and it's what we as a human race is built to do and it's dangerous to have kids at a later age since more or likely to have mental disabilities or are you saying that not having kids affects the long term more than the short term...or both?

It's obvious as hell, right? And yet we aren't procreating. Apparently something else is more important. Which is insane.

Maybe this drop in reproduction across developed countries is part of our evolutionary programming to prevent overcrowding/overconsumption of resources/whatever. Or maybe we, as Westerners, live more and more of our daily lives ensconced in delusion instead of dealing with the real world, and the more integrated the internet becomes into our lives, the worse this will get.

(Thanks to everyone for tolerating my "thinking out loud" posts.)

Or maybe some group of influential people put it about that having more than one child, or any at all, is bad, told women that the value of a human being is how much money he or especially she makes, and proposed that Self Self Self is the only really important thing.

Y'know, culture change.

Could be that, too. It could be that's an inevitable cultural change that happens in any country that reaches a certain level of development.

Whatever the answer is, we're in for a bad time.

We're getting off-topic here, guys. Post shit in the deep thoughts thread.

Back to the madness:

Another verbal error outrage thing...

So you’re saying we should all just be pumping out kids rather we really want to have them or not, rather or not we’ve found a person we want to have kids with, and rather or not we’re happy right now because the only point of life is just to keep being a cog in the machine?

No, I'm pretty sure you shouldn't reproduce.

We often typo things based on what we've been thinking about. If that's the case here, it means Jr. spends more time thinking about business and lending and so forth than he does about a zombie "entertainment" propaganda program.

And I don't see anything wrong with that.
