I only heard about this today (Party Monster connection). Youtube suggested a video (no idea how I got on this particular list) that discussed just this.
The guy speaking may not be reliable, or may be a nut, but the people named and shown in the video can be researched to confirm statements made.
He makes "connections" that may just be in his mind, but it is a place to start.

So there has been a video going around Facebook that features the infamous footage of Desmond stripping for cash and that drag queen interview where he pretended to snort ketamine. Naturally, his mother is rather butthurt and is claiming it’s “fake news” and “hurting drag performers.” However, she never actually explained why and how this footage should be considered “fake.” Wendylou is obviously terrified that the drag community would eventually distance themselves from them in order to avoid being labeled as a pedo club.

I can't help but think that this is the case too. It's not hard to see the parallels between Alig and Desmond's childhoods, and how in Desmond's case, those parallels have been developed by Desmond's mother.
