What I wouldn’t give to be at the funeral...I’d like to learn how to eulogize a farting potato.

have either of the two kids/things ever made an expression of true sapient understanding and self thought, or have they always just stared and existed with seemingly no internal thoughts or higher level processes.
It honestly seems like whatever Claire sensed, her microbrain’s attempts to decipher stimulus just caused her extreme discomfort. I can’t even begin to imagine 17 years of this shit.Claire seemed to have a bit more sentience than Lola ever did. There's a video out there of Claire reacting to a toy that makes sound, and it's clear she doesn't like the sound it makes and is trying to move it so she doesn't have to hear it. There's another one where she reacts to slime on her hand. Of the two, she likely was more capable of feeling pain and therefor her death is way more peaceful to her.
Well, it took a few years, but that little kid's prediction eventually came true...Half of it, anyway.
The previous Halloween, Gwen forced them into the costumes below, not long after Lola came down with an almost fatal case of chicken pox. She was recovering but still suffering from the after-effects when these photos were taken. Anyone who looked at them back then would swear that she was on the brink of death and would go before long before Claire.

While Claire didn't appear as weak and sick as Lola in these pictures, the expression on her face. particularly in the second picture, seems as though she was looking into the abyss and witnessing a cosmic horror so obscene and terrifying that it would make HP Lovecraft weep.
Seriously, thank God or fate or whatever force runs the universe that Claire is FINALLY out of that crazy woman's clutches.
That was a real low point for msm glurge stories in general. They were riding so high on the "autism isn't a disability" train, why not say that being a zero IQ, brainless pinhead also isn't a disability?Yeah, it's our caveman brains telling us "shun it, put that fucking thing out in the woods before it curses the whole clan.". It's a straight up survival instinct in our brains.
I have a lot of reasons to dislike Gwen, but one of the big ones is when back in 2015-2016 when there was a zeka virus scare, Gwen m.ilked that shit for all it was worth.
She went on news shows to back-hand chastise impoverished South American mothers for having the gall to be concerned about birthing a micro-miracle baby. Gwen, with her government provided full time staff of nurses and therapists, her tens of thousands of dollars of hi-tech equipment, was wagging her fat little finger at pregnant poor women living in fucking favelas for not wanting to raise a mewling half-head.
Like "Polly Pocket" or "Ms. Pocky" is any better?I'm strangely satisfied she can't call them the "Hartley Hooligans" any more because there's only one. I always fucking hated that name.
As @Bubblez McGee said, Cal attends a nearby jesus college. IIRC, it's only a two-year school and I think Cal should be graduating in spring of 2019, so it will soon be time to either find a job or transfer to a big-boy school. As far as a career goes, what are the odds that he's going to go into either special ed or some kind of nursing/medical care field? Is the brother still around or is he in collage or working?
I don't have the heart to go through the whole thread to see if anyone ever suggested her next cosplay piece be "Eraserhead"
It's even better now that's just got the one, and it's the most distorted one!
Wow, this board has gone into overdrive since the announcement of Claire's demise.
I was just watching her and Scott's Nightline interview where she expressed disapproval at the media and the medical community for their response to the Zika virus. She demonstrated by saying in a sarcastic voice, "Let's spray the whole country with pesticides, so that nobody gets bit by mosquitoes, so nobody has to have a kid like THAT."
She said it in a tone that suggested that people were unreasonable to have those feelings. Meanwhile anyone with any sense was thinking "Yes, exactly, let's get rid of as many mosquitoes as possible so that zika doesnt spread, so that no one has to have a drooling, nearly brainless goblin to deal with for years and years!"
I wouldn't say that they ever really expressed any sign that there was any higher functioning. At least not since Gwen started her blog and facebook page. Claire looked better when she was younger and since she had a degenerative condition, it's possible she might have had some small abilities when she was a toddler.
At best, I've seen a few tiny indications that she might have had some basic awareness of her environment. That guy Chris from Special Books for Special Kids interviewed the Hartleys a while back and while he was holding the girls, Claire was wide eyed(even more so than usual) and she was angling her body as far from him as she could. When her family members were holding her, she was in a more relaxed position and had her eyes closed. So there was a difference in her reactions based on who she was with. Also when one of her therapists put some clay on her hands to play with, she appeared to be trying to push it away. A few other things like that that showed a shallow awareness, but nothing that indicated any higher functioning or any real attempts to really interact with her world.
Lola...all she ever did was root and bleat.
Lola had/has the rooting reflex. Sometimes Clair would open her mouth in a gaping fashion like a fish out of water, but she didn't actually root. Lola was the one who would start rooting whenever anything touched her mouth or face.
Those snotty letters to the doctor was one of the things that made me hate Gwen the most. He was the first doctor that gave her any real answers and most of his answers were correct btw. And if you search for Dr Dobyns, you'll see that he's one of the most respected doctors and researchers in his field, yet Gwen acts like he's some ametuer and that she knows so much more than him. Even some of her supporters tried to tell her how wrong that was, but she always thinks she's right, so the letters continued.
I always thought of parents like Gwen and Jaxon Buell's parents as having something like "reverse munchausen" where instead of making their healthy kids sick, they insisted that their extremely sick and disabled kids were healthier and more able than they really were.
Unfortunately, I think that's her name for the entire family...as if to say "We're just a bunch of wild and crazy Hooligans...haha..look what a great attitude I have, see how self deprecating I am...notice how I laugh in the face of adversity...dont ya just love me?!"
I think he goes to a Jesus college nearby, so he makes frequent trips home.
Brazilian culture is greatly influenced by the Catholic Church. A March 2007 Datafolha/Folha de S.Paulo poll found that 65% of Brazilians believe that their country's current law "should not be modified", 16% that it should be expanded "to allow abortion in other cases", 10% that abortion should be "decriminalized", and 5% were "not sure".[17]
Another poll on this issue was made in December 2010, by the polling institute Vox Populi. This study revealed that 82% of Brazilians consider that the current law on abortion should not be modified, while 14% consider that abortion should be decriminalized, and 4% declare to have no position on the matter.[18]
Following the impeachment of former leftist President Dilma Rousseff, new opinion polls indicated an increase in the rejection to the legalization of abortion in Brasil. According to the Ipsos Research Institute, in 2017, 87% of Brazilians opposed the idea of legalizing abortion.[19] The opinion polls carried out by the Paraná Research Institute also concluded that 86.5% of Brazilians are against the decriminalization.[20] According to the IBOPE (largest research institute in Brazil), in 2018, eight out of ten Brazilians oppose legalization.[21] This view is also followed by the majority of federal deputies, which makes it virtually impossible to attempt to legalize abortion through the Legislative Branch.[22] All of this has led the small group of abortion supporters (led by the anthropologist Débora Diniz) to appeal to the Supreme Court, claiming that criminalization of this kind of act, "violates fundamental human precepts"[22].
In 2018, a new poll found that 42% of Brazilians oppose legal abortion even in cases of rape (while 53% were favorable).[23]
In case of fetuses with microcephaly, 58% of the population expressed opposition.[24]
A survey made in Ribeirão Preto (SP) has shown that 70% of the Brazilian doctors do not support the decriminalization of abortion in the country.[25] 77% also rejects the idea that abortion should be carried out simply because of the woman's desire.[26] 82.5% of the Brazilian doctors also reject the legalization of abortion due to socioeconomic difficulties.[27] In case of a possible legalization, only 17.5% of them would agree to carry it out professionally.[28]
It's so fucking "let them eat cake".It's like Gwen doesn't even care that the countries most affected by zika are full of poor women with few resources. In Brazil you can't even get access to abortions easily. It's illegal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abortion_in_Brazil
So for many women the best solution is reduce the mosquito population. So poor women living hand to mouth in shacks don't have to bear the burden of zika babies they cannot afford to care for. Not everyone has access to the kind of medical care that Gwen pushed aside for amber necklaces and essential oils.
God, Gwen is so privileged.![]()
I admit the grew on me after a while.yo that's a shame. they were kind of adorable in a weird way. kinda like Jim Henson puppets.

Speaking of Juliana Wetmore, has anyone else heard of Sophia Weaver and her mom Natalie? Sophia was born with Rett syndrome and other various grotesquely disturbing deformities that are the things of nightmares. Her mom made a huge stink about someone making a post on twitter using Sophia's picture as an example of why abortions should remain a thing. The mom eventually succeeded in getting the poster's account suspended for "participating in abusive behavior." Most of the tweets directed at her weren't even hateful in the least and were just making the very rational points that having Sophia or children like her aborted would have been the most loving thing to do considering her issues, and that if parents decide to have a child like that, they should be responsible for all of their resulting medical bills. The mom doesn't seem to be a fundie like the Wetmore's or shill Sophia out like Gwen, but she still annoys the shit out of me.
