It's something awesome for people who want to get a taste of current comics without spending a dime or accidentally downloading 26G of dolphin porn.
>tfw you have actually watched literal dolphin porn

Also yeah, I think the rest of yall summed up my feelings on the art.

It looks like the kind of costume design you would see on shows like Law and Order in an episode where there is a murder at totally-not-comic-con which features a bunch of cosplays of characters/franchises the interns came up with after googling for random weeb/nerd shit for a few hours

CHINS STONKING GREAT FUCKING CHINS

This is a "If you have ask.." kinda question lol.

@damian probably knows more, but what's actually hilarious is that one of the biggest illegal comics scan sites actually declared they're anti-CG. And you know they will be the 1st to pirate this most progressive and wonderful comic about how Zoe is so haressed and totally cyberpunk and stuff. :story:

Hilarious. So the maggots gnawing on the corpse of the comics industry by stealing their shit wholesale is preaching against the people trying to save it.

That cover looks like vomit. Frankly, the picture of his asshole would make a better cover.

Always interesting to tap the anonymous hivemind for tidbits:

FWIW that's the variant cover by Stjepan Sejic, who's hit or miss. His portfolio is Top Cow heavy with a lot of Witchblade comics. Robbi does the original, but Stjepan probably had to work with their shitty palettes and designs, so he did the best he could I guess as a guest artist for the cover.

An older one for comparison:

There's something really weird about the Positioning of the character at the bottom. If they're all charging forward, as they seem to be, her body is at a 90 degree angle of what it should be (I think). It looks weird, in any case, I guess to showcase her mall-goth tits.

I think she's falling sideways onto a dick.

It's pretty much exactly what you'd expect: poorly written with lots of exposition dumping, derivative story, bland characters and almost comical levels of self-insert. If it were attached to anyone else's name it would be met with a shrug and quickly forgotten.

That was pretty bad. Mediocre art. Garbage story.

I am slightly impressed she was able to use that many words to say absolutely nothing, though.

The best bad art comes from a place of complete sincerity. Jack Chick and Gabby Riviera are true believers in their autistic vision and the results are glorious. Someone smarter then I am will probably pick this apart for clues into the inner workings of Quinn's mind, but I just found it boring and derivative. We have massive text walls describing a generic cyberpunk dystopia that everyone will recognize as a generic setting without needing all the setup. The art looks like Lisa Frank raped William Gibson with a fill tool.

Her entire artistic life has consisted of pretending to be an artist instead of just taking advantage of the opportunities in front of her to actually make art. If you are given a owner created series it's your chance to go all the way to crazy town, to fuck with your editor and see how much you can get away with; It's better to be a Neal Breen then a Doug Walker. I guess it was too optimistic to think Zoe would drop the pretense and let her crazy out. Too bad.

Much to my shock I didn't absolutely hate it. Seemed more derivative and predictable than anything else. Nothing I'd ever buy, of course.

I'm thinking DC/Vertigo told her editor to keep her firmly in her lane, at least for Issue # 1.

No way does this make money from floppies, but I can easily see woke YA town librarians buying bound editions for their GN sections. Where it will then rot on the shelf uncirculated, but a sale is a sale, and who cares if it is Ingram and not Diamond? The trick there is I think they need to get this epic to at least issue # 6 (I think?) to have enough pages for a bound edition. We shall see.

You nailed it. Quinn's entire life has just been an endless quest for attention based on a carefully constructed persona as an "artist". Art in general tends to come from a place of deep emotion and personal experience filtered through the tastes and passions of the person creating it. You can always tell the difference between a bland top 40 pop song churned out according to marketing demographics vs something deeply personal and heartfelt that the musician channeled everything they had into, for example. Even if it's bad, if it's done with passion, it's usually enjoyable. That's probably the big difference between a movie like The Room and a movie that tries to be intentionally terrible, like Sharknado.

Quinn doesn't have a rich internal life. She doesn't feel passion for comics or games. She has a form of sociopathy that gives her a chronic sense of emptiness, a need to be admired and a personality that fluctuates wildly depending on who she's in the room with and what she needs to be to get what she wants from them. All she can do, at best, is mimic the skills, emotions and passions of others. And do it poorly.

Hey, hey, hey!

777 is a great number. If you're UNIX person, 777 represents access to a file by all users on a system. In some Christian sects three sevens represent the Holy Trinity. Jews consider 3 and 7 to be perfect numbers, so 3 times 7 is pretty fucking great.

You know what's also 777 and pretty great?

It's a number of days since "Fucked in the ass by my own incompetence" the FMV game by Zoe Quinn was promised. Mazel tov, may we live to see 1000!

It actually looks a lot better than I expected it would, considering those first few preview pics looked like someone puked up a Lisa Frank binder. Story is boring as fuck.
