👓 TGWTG Nostalgia Chick / Lindsay Ellis / TheDudette - aka Hotdogs in face girl

Not to drag this further off-topic, but the only thing I'll give Alison credit for is telling the bronies to essentially fuck off.

She might very well be bi, but considering she only dated dudes and "came out" rather late, part of me thinks she just claims being "queer" for SJW brownie points. Or maybe she just wanted to fit in with bi Nella and "married asexual mom" Elisa.

Oh it's definitely this. White female SJWs love pretending to be bi despite only dating men. I knew a couple who referred to themselves as 'lesbian' despite being in committed relationships with men.

It's an easy way to treat yourself like an oppressed minority without actually having to sacrifice anything.

Yeah I remember one time a girl I was talking to said she was bi because one time she tried a 3 some with a guy and a girl. lol

New "It's Lit" video, about the history of book covers.
(On Youtube, because I guess the FB video releases weren't getting enough views.)

Pretty decent and informative over all, and even has some nice subtle humor. Has a jab about "the eyes of T.J. Eckleburg" showing up relentless of AP American Lit exams, which is actually a pretty relatable joke about how some English teachers really force you to focus in on very specific things (my American Lit teacher never shut up about T.J. Eckleburg eyes either).

You might be wondering how Lindsay managed to insert SJ into the last part of the video this time. Lindsay spent a lot of time wondering too, since this time she was almost completely stumped on how to tie it in to the theme. All she was able to do was insert one line about a book cover that was whitewashed in its American release. I think it's obvious that Lindsay probably didn't even know that this book existed before making the video, and that she probably only discovered it after hours of research trying to find a single instance of a book cover causing an SJ controversy.

I recall Lindsay tweeted some time ago that all the videos on this next wave of "It's Lit" would premiere on FB before going to YouTube, so that was the plan from the jump rather than a last-ditch effort for views. I think the strategy/hope was that the promise of one getting to watch "It's Lit" earlier than one would see it on YouTube would draw traffic toward the PBS Digital Studios Facebook page. Y'know, normal social media marketing stuff. (It's very similar to something Polygon had done last year - premiering episodes of its popular Monster Factory series on Facebook as an attempt to have a larger presence there, to very little fanfare, before bowing out quietly and returning to status quo.)

Pretty funny considering how easily she could've used Wuthering Heights instead.
In the book Heathcliff was biracial but most movie adaptions just have him be fully white.

To be fair though the vid was about book covers - usually Wuthering Heights covers have nothing but the title in big swirly letters or landscapes/the house, rather than the people.
(I think?)

Depends on how much money it costs them. Probably worth noting the Rat corporation never actually says anything, it just allows things to play out knowing the net media will do their work for them, who in turn get the flack from fans.

The real stinger is the Rat doesnt even have to reward them for this moronic product loyalty.
The Rat owns the fucking media, of course it will do the work for them!

"It's Lit" is only a name a middle-aged drunk could've came up with for a show.
Kinda reminds me of that Barbershop Quartet episode of Simpsons.
Skinner: Only one question remains, gentlemen. What do we call ourselves?
Nigel: How about, "Handsome Homer Simpson Plus Three?"
Barney: I like it!
Apu: Wait, I do not.
Skinner: Er, um, we need a name that's witty at first, but that seems less funny each time you hear it.
Apu: How about, "The Be Sharps?"
(Everyone laughs loud at first, then less, then the laughter tapers off)
Skinner: Perfect!

Only it starts out "meh" and becomes worse every time you read it.
