Nearest I can tell from reading between the lines and listening to Tevin's restream. The real story is the Youtube Juggernaut did another virtue signaling flail in their attempt to convince the media and talking heads that they were purging the system of all wrongthink and offense. As usual, tons of people got crushed and the MCNs including Curse who previously would have signed up every Tom, Dick, and Phil because they could profit of the pennies they were leeching from misclicks no matter how terrible they were suddenly had to offload a bunch of deadweight. Phil probably got a form letter or at most some boilerplate from an overworked intern/employee which he promptly reinvents into him as the center of the universe holding his own against dirty cheating Tevin in the Universe Wrestling Championship ring before crowds of adoring fans and the Curse Board of Directors. But the reality is this was an internetwide event he was only a microscopic part of. That is if he isn't outright lying and covering something even worse, like actually being fired for misconduct.

i think phil is more likely playing fast and loose with the truth rather than outright lying. what probably happened is the same that happened to everyone else who got dropped when he did: they got a form letter and that was the end of it. plenty of smaller channels made videos about getting dropped when all this was going down.

the question is if phil was big enough to warrant special treatment (the conference call). I'm willing to bet that phil is twisting the truth with this one and he really initiated the conference call as a result of the form letter. (he has a habit of "escalating things to management", after all.)

the content of the call was probably pretty boilerplate: they talk about yt's new guidelines and all the reports they've received about phil, but maybe sugar-coated it a bit. either way, phil reports this as curse being unwillingly forced to dump him because of trolls.

- Does a 6 hour stream (often with less than 4.5-5 hours of gameplay due to breaks and pre-stream) then fucks off (which resets his viewer count) only to come back for a 2 hour stream (which sometimes doesn't even happen, like today for example)

This is why I call bullshit on Phil's apparent financial woes. I believe he's in some shit, don't get me wrong, but I don't believe he's as deep in shit as he claims. If he was, he would be on the fucking grind to build his stream, network with other streamers, change his attitude so as to roll with the punches, and fix his setup so he doesn't have to pause gameplay to update the tip/donation counter manually, among other things. He'd have no other choice. Grind or starve.

You might say he's avoiding doing all of this because he's just lazy , but as lazy and incompetent as he indeed is, surely basic survival instincts kick in at some point. His survival instincts haven't kicked in yet because he knows he's not quite at breaking point. Not yet. Whether it be due to paypigs, family support, hidden money, miscellaneous things he hasn't revealed, I guess we can't be entirely sure.

All I know is that Phil's behaviour does not reflect that of a man who's on the brink of truly losing it all. You don't #SaveTheHouse by relying on donations given to you during 6 hour twitch streams and literally nothing else.

It's almost certainly not as bad as he acts like, but I believe that he needs a significant chunk of money, and $16k matches up well with someone making $100k+ of taxable income, which is where Phil has been estimated at for the last few years at least. As for his plan, well...look at what happened last year. He got an assload of money just straight-up flung at him when he asked for it. He fucked up in using it, obviously, but why wouldn't he count on someone(s) giving him what he asks for? Wants a new PS4 Pro and 4K TV? Money given. Remember last Thanksgiving when he was pretending to be single? Fan offered to fucking buy him a meal from Boston Market. Switch was (allegedly) donated to him. How many games have fans paid for directly? I'd venture to guess 10-12, coming out to probably between ~$600 and ~$800 worth of games.

You're absolutely right that Phil should be having some survival instincts kick in, but he's floated along to this point without any serious consequences (in terms of his lifestyle) yet, and we all know how reluctant he is to change. If he's not telling just a 100% lie, I honestly think he's just counting on getting enough money given to him.

Its also easy to assume even if things were as bad as Dark claims they are hes simply so lazy he doesn't care. hes spent 10 years being bailed out by fans and living in his own little bubble of delusion, its not much of a reach to assume when shit hits the fan he simply isnt aware enough to realize the gravity of his situation or mature enough to take the proactive steps to start fixing things.

This is funny to me, he tries to put on airs that he treats streaming like a full time job, but when you tally up the hours, it doesn't stack up. He basically spends 2 hours chatting to the secretary, starts doing some work, takes an extra long lunch break, then leaves for home whilst everyone else is still working.

3 things are wrong here

1. 90% of the time when Phil is yelling the game is bugged or glitched, it is because he is blind or refuses to read the instructions/textbox so that he doesnt know how to do a game mechanism, but of course that's the game's fault

Example: "The Crouch-jump of Black Mesa"

2. Nobody will hire Phil, he hates all the developers, all the COD ones "sucks", and we already know Square Enix and Nintendo are detractors that steal his profit. Even if someone hires him, he would more often than not ragequit game so he is definitely not the ideal Game tester by any mean

3. Phil simply can't WERK a part-time JAHB, he is so godamn lazy and has no responsibility and punctuality, he is out of the job market for so long, nothing but maybe a fast food store or a basic sales job would take it, but which manager would want a fat employee who constantly SNORT and BURP when talking to customers?

I can't fault him/Kat for wanting a nice festive tree. But i did notice something.

Lets play, Problem Solving with Phil:

1. Phil would like to show My Girl the SoulMaid off to his haters and prove that he has a real IRL girlfriend. This will allow him to T-Pose all over the virgin detractors.

2. Due to situations outside of his control and because she doesn't appreciate how hard Dave works, Kat has banned Phil from posting her on social media.

2a. We know the ban is still in effect becsuse he originally snuck her in the corner of the screen, like a hand or so, but even that has stopped. His Begsgiving meal was aaaaaaalmost framed with a piece of her but Phil is a coward so he settled at proving there were two plates.

Solution: Dark takes a photo of a photo ornament that includes Kat. This way, he hasn't REALLY broken the rules. Its even in a collage so maybe she won't notice. Because Phil is a coward.

The guy knew he had x number of seconds until he would be muted. You can't just say "Phil is a fat fuck!"

People having to now have a prepared script or "Real tawk" bullet points on hand to rattle off quicker than the old micro-machines guy just to get anything meaningful in before Phil mutes them and attacks whatever straw man point he can find or twist is downright ridiculous...

It occurred to me that the "troll" cheers and rare on-mic "detractorism" during multiplayer games are like those people that used to fly airplanes to skywrite messages to the "Big Brother" cast, or Truman's dad and Sylvia on the Truman Show, etc...

Think about it: if not for Twitter and TKOHF, those trolls would be the only "normal" contact he has with the real world as he *strictly* regulates all other contact as to be nothing more than an echo chamber/mirror of his own ideas and narrative. Don't agree with Dave/Phil/Dill, then "get that ass banned." He is SO isolated and walled off behind his exceptional "Detractor" bullshit that people are willing to pay or go to great lengths to try and reach him, beyond simple trolling.

@Haunter Welp, that settles it. You were right, the framed photo on the table facing the wall in that house tour vlog last year was Kat and Dark, that's the same photo in the ornament as was on the table.

How fucking weird is that?
