The facebook version has an error in the 2nd frame "stress that out" that was only corrected on tumblr
Okay this comic is surprisingly lucid and I agree with the general message. I am not going to bother pointing out the general hypocrisy within many online trans communities, and LaBelle's own views, to pressure others into transitioning because I can't beat that horse any deader. Like seriously what the shit just happened? Like everything except panel 2 is just good on it's own.

ciel's comment feels... unrelated... unless the whole thing stephie then went out about was about pressuring people into sex BECAUSE theyre trans?
makes me think of a very old autobiographical comic sophie wrote about when she was possibly sexually assaulted as a kid? and felt like she couldnt say no because she was trans or something?

anyone knows what im talking about?

I'd argue that's less important. Any scene in fiction that consists of two characters vehemently agreeing with one another is suspect, whether or not the reader agrees with the sentiments expressed. I mean, what is the purpose of this? It shows no events, and I would argue shows no insight to the characters.

This isn't a comic with characters. This is a blog post broken out into voice bubbles.

I was more focused on the "need for belonging" and mental illness stuff. Like I think that's the first time LaBelle has ever addressed it in any way.

But I'm with ya, these comics where the back and forth is clearly just author ego masturbation is tiresome and pointless. It's soapboxing but using two characters instead of one and it makes for extremely weak dialogue.

That's a good point, too.

Lord knows I can sympathize with feeling alone and despised by the world. Of course, sometimes the world is right.

I have to wonder sometimes if people retreat into self-inflicted mental illness to use as a crutch. "Everyone hates me because I'm trans!" might be far more comforting than "Everyone hates me because I'm obnoxious!"

And for "trans" replace the victimized population du jour. It's a legitimate problem, but I don't believe everyone who claims to have it actually has it.

whats the point of letting someone color if theyre not gonna do anything unique? last time she let someone color, they actually did a much better job than her and it looked noticeably different. but this one has nothing new to bring to the table... what, did u just let em play pretend big big famous artist?

also... does stephie need to take a piss?
Because Billy's lying about a boyfriend in the sad attempt to look like he's a real woman IMO; mainly because said fictional beau conveniently shade and color the same way as Billy.

i cant wait till she pulls another transexualiam and attempts to draw some art in a distinctly different style and pass it off as her bf's art

Bill should let him draw the comic. It can't be worse than that increasingly lazy garbage Bill is doing.

looked the guy up and, yup... thats also the dude who ap did the (much better imo) coloring for her comic last time... or at least thats the guy she credits

http://assignedmale.tumblr.com/post/166466351092/arvitammi-helped-me-with-the-colors-3

but he doesnt seem to mention her anywhere. hes not even following or being followed by her on twitter

ill give sophie this: the guy does exist. or at the very least she has A guy to point to
he seems to be pretty involved in LGBT activism
and hes pretty quiet on all social media, rarely ever posts, and only art, so its not IMPOSSIBLE that he doesnt involve a lot of his personal life

im not 100% sure she completely made up a bf for attention, but im more likely to believe hes only with her out of activism and maybe some kinda "oppressor guilt", and perhaps is trying to avoid her or keep this relationship mostly business

"even if youre already half naked or something"
its clearly about sex but shes still talking in general terms and skipping about it like a lil kid afraid to downright say it
is this gonna become the assigned male sex ed show?

besides, what does CONSENT have to do with the lgbt community? i thought the lack of coverege for it in standard sex ed is why she started all this, but p much every kid is taught about consent
