They haven't charged him with child abuse/porn yet because the cops tend to take their time with those allegations because that's some serious time. They want to make sure their evidence is bullet proof, especially on the molestation. I do feel sorry for whatever cop has to look over that computer.
With the way prosecutors work, they might pressure him into a deal with less time by dropping the animal abuse charges to flip on the other ones in the group. Especially if they think they can build a federal case. They're more likely to look at it like a child abuse ring. Also they like to charge people who abuse animals with violence, because that's one of the warning signs of a serial killer like people said.
If they're out of the US, they will alert other law enforcement agencies. No deal for that though. They're going to pack on the charges.
Also even in ends up in solitary/protective, prison guards tend to give 'hints' to other prisoners about people like this. Even criminals have a code of morality. A puppy rapist (God that is so fucked to be real), a killer of helpless animals and a child rapist. The only way he could be more hated if you added child murder.
