It's at least possible, I think. I once drove by this car on the interstate that was in flames, not just smoke. There was a family trying to put it out with a water bottle (lol). Dunno if it was an actual mechanical issue or something else, but the fire was coming from the engine compartment.

I will say, however, that if ever anyone would wind up in this type of situation, it'd be Chris.

There's a lot of reasons it's heating up. I assume he has the AC blasting and no oil changes ever . He should run the heat with Windows wide open and take some off and check the thermostat those models always lose thermostats .

Depending. My old beater once had the same issue and it was not cheap to resolve. If it's your thermostat, yeah, cheap fix. Could also be an air bubble that needs to be bled or a hose that fucked out. Again, not awful.
If your intake gasket is fucked, prepare your anus.
