A part of me really hopes they do but we know Chris wouldn't learn anything from it. He'd blame the trolls for claiming he's a scammer.

And this is why he's so screwed. He refuses to listen to reason.

So what do you lot think will come first, broken knee caps, Barb bitching about the angry letters, jail for fraud, bann from Kickstarter or death?

Nah they are meant to fund artistic endeavors. The proliferation of game and product kickstarters has led to the perception of the platform being a strange kind of pre-order. The reality is that you are providing a donation to whatever project/cause the creator is working on with its completion or a thank you gift as reward.

I am loving the term "get-up-and-go" vehicle. He says they needed a new "get-up-and-go" vehicle for his mother due to age, but Barb is driving the old van while Chris ended up with the new car. Something doesn't follow there.
I was thinking the same thing. "MY MOM SAID SHE NEEDED A NEW CAR!!" Why then is Chris the one with the new car and why doesn't she just use the van too? It's not like they ever go to two different places... either Chris goes alone or he goes with Barb... she doesn't ever go anywhere alone anymore (or if she does go alone, she can just take the van). As Chris said in his facebook, he just wanted a less bulky car and something more "sporty"

Well he needs a sporty New car to impress his girlfriend.

Maybe Chris should just give up on the car endeavor and just walk everywhere. It will save money from car payments and fuel, and the exercise will get him into shape and work off the STRESS.

"... it was ALL Barbara Anne's (my Mother) Idea to get a New Vehicle with Automatic Transmission In the First Place..."
Having her teeth attended was also her idea and I didn't saw Chris rushing to the dentist... so yeah, as always, blaming others for his own actions... that's our Chris.

Random question.... doesn't Chris know how to drive a stick shift? Cuz I thought he did... so why doesn't he use the BMW? It's far more "sporty" than this new car. And if he doesn't know how... and Barb doesn't know how... then why do they have this car? Cuz Chris has already said a crap ton of times in the past that either Barb or himself would drive Bob around... (remember? It was one of his many "tiring chores")

scam
transitive verb
: to deceive and take money from (someone)

: to get (something, such as money) by deceiving someone

I would consider the craiglist car ad, the meemaws teeth guilt trip, the kickstarter campaign, and the continous broken promises on shipping already paid for items scams. Poorly thought out, laughable scams.

Well this is absolutely nothing new. Chris not listening, Chris' inconsistencies, Chris' wastage of money, Chris' excusing his way out of his fuck ups. It's tragic, but expected, and further delays are what you get.

Who's he responding to?

Us. Contrary to belief, he actually does cone to the forums, but he doesn't go around reading every individual post. Just enough to get a just of what people are saying about him.

Sad that I'm defending Chris, but he lives in rural Virginia. People can't get on without a vehicle there.

Does anyone else find it curious that Chris is responding to issues and comments raised here in near real time (either he's reading here or someone is relaying stuff to him) - about the cars, his piercing, his gender identity, his e-bay sales, his kickstarter, etc - but the one issue doesn't comment on (despite it being raised here constantly) is their future housing plans?

I have no problem believing that Barb has kept Chris in the dark about what's really going on regarding housing, but it seems odd that he ignores the issue entirely rather than simply posting what he believes to be the case as he does regarding other issues.

I also wonder whether the car sell-off is somehow related to pressure mounting regarding the old house. You can't generally just abandon a fire damaged property indefinitely. At some point you'll come under outside pressure to either file plans for repairing the property and have to start that work by a certain date or you'll need to demolish it and clean up the land. It wouldn't surprise me if the Chandlers are under-insured in the first place (many people are) and they're unable to proceed with whatever plan they have without contributing some cash of their own.

"Emergency."

Was this car loan forced at gunpoint?

At first I thought he meant having to get a car too but from his previous posts it seems like that was something they decided to abruptly do. I think the "emergency" he's referring to is the lack of funds needed to ship items. Of course the fact that he created that emergency doesn't matter to him, I guess.

Especially when you're banned from the nearby locations you need to go to. He has to go to another city to do most of his shopping and slowly with each ban he has to go further.

They're not deceptive.

"and it's Stick Shift could not ever hold up to ever!"

HOW DO YOU WORDS?

He's probably just deep in denial. Outside of the fire and Bob dying, nothing TRULY bad has happened to him. Things always just sort of fall back into normalcy. How he reacts after his girlfriends leave him/die/whatever is roof of that. He's probably assuming that Barb is going to handle it or that insurance won't force a Lesbian-Soul-Transgender out on the streets.

The kickstarter is for sure a scam. He's trying to get people to pay for legos he doesn't need, he is the only one that will benefit from it.

Not really. He isn't promising anything he wouldn't do. He's flat out stating that if you give him money then he'll build what he wants to build with legos. I don't think his kickstarter even states if he'll post pictures but I'm not sure.
