👓 TGWTG The Spoony One / Spoony / Noah Antwiler and Rachel Baker / @RaeAngel07 - The touching romance between a washed-up videogame reviewer throwing a decade-long pity party and his delusional Canuck stalker. #weaknotsick #donttellmehowtosulk

I was looking up It Came from Beyond Midnight and encountered this link, which serves another reminder of how long the decline has been ongoing. While this is nothing new, it's interesting to read the words of somebody from back then.

"The Spoony Experiment used to be fun. I stumbled across it when he did his phantasmagoria playthrough/commentary, stuck around to watch more stuff like that... [...] but then everything got dropped"

- Cairon, Jul 27, 2010

"He's started a new video commentary series "Wrestle Wrestle".

So far that's pretty good."

I wouldn't say things like the FMV series got dropped. There just wasn't enough content to make a full series about it. It's an issue Spoony had, always going with something niche that would get dropped after a few episodes once everything was talked about it (he has an issue drawing things out so he could get more out of something). One thing he had going for him was his Wrestle Wrestle series because he would talk about TNA (notorious for bad shows). Reb Brown movies, (bad) Final Fantasy games, FMV's and VHS/ DVD games just don't have enough content because there's just not enough there.

I wonder whether this (other than James' incomparable work ethic) is what made AVGN such a robust formula compared to anything Spoony has produced. I consider AVGN episodes to have gotten a lot less inspired over the years, but at least that continuing thread of the brand going all the way from beginning to end gives it a boost, not just in nostalgia for the previous videos elevating the current ones, but also a Simpsons-style situation where people know a new episode is rarely going to offer anything world-shattering, but it's familiar and enjoyable to the people who want more of the same. Spoony nostalgia isn't even based on a particular series, but more clustered on a handful of games that he has become associated with.

Spoony is currently streaming Cuphead, I wonder how much he'll rage.
>Going in blind to what I've been told is the new Misery Simulator on Steam.
Has somebody made a game about Noah's life? Also, shitpost from his subreddit.

Probably not as much as he did with Fallout 2 (which was his own fault). I think he'll appreciate that Cuphead is a really hard game.
Least he goes into games blind it seems.

Someone mentions Jew Wario on stream, Noah proceeds to say it doesn't bother him, for 10 minutes and banning the person. Yup, doesn't bother you.

"I'm not unhinged! Fuck you!" he says as he's hunched up and shaking and swearing at viewers and ranting about a video game. God this is uncomfortable.

The chat is eating him alive. ragequit inminent.

Also "I enjoy murdering people"

Yeah, sure buddy.

It is remarkable how little impact his constant sperging has. Usually with people of this type you can chart an ever-deepening decline, but I think Noah hit rock bottom years ago and hasn't had the decency to tap out yet.
