I decided to draw gelasticat because she has now removed herself from anything related to Homestuck (rest in piss) so this is in memoriam.

Anyway during April 1st she posted this which is you know, not that bad, a bit bland but unoffensive

My redraw ain't that great but if she can make Jade look little like a human, then I could make Rose's hair black. I got really lazy and only did the skin and hair. Plus the poses were bugging me for some reason so I changed those.

i think you did a great job! your colors are way nicer than the kind of pale and unsaturated shit gelasticat did in her joke one. plus i love your poses (especially jane, so cute and fits her character) and your take on rose; she still looks like herself with some obvious flair you put in yourself. (sorry if this is a bit long-winded. just wanted to appreciate your skill in fixing what was a monstrosity.)
 
I find it interesting how SJWs draw themselves covered in scrapes and bruises despite being too fragile to deal with opposing opinions, so obviously too fragile to engage in any activity which would lead to scrapes and bruises.

I tried to reduce the "child prostitute" appearance and make him look like an actual boy. I also wanted to get rid most of the special effects since it just seems like a crutch here, it doesn't really add anything to the final drawing. Frankly I still think this is pretty ugly for a reason I can't put my finger on, maybe the garish color scheme is to blame.

Good God, even just changing the face would have been a complete transformation: The linework and colorscheme aren't really that bad when they're not being hosed down with concentrated :autism:.

I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out yet, but what really annoys me about these artists is that they have NO IDEA how draw bodies to the correct sex.
I don't care if half of these characters are suppose to be trans or "agender". Your either MALE or FEMALE. Draw their respective bodies correctly!

Prepare for a long ass post of confusing looking characters. I blame OK KO for making these confusing body types. I really wanted to fix these up with some redraws.

Apparently the character you'll see below is supposed to be a boy. Yes, really. In my edit, I tried to make that a bit more clear. I also got rid of the hideous cow nose, it didn't look appealing at all.

I've seen plenty of people draw anthro cows and they're perfectly appealing to look at. I can't even tell if the character is supposed to be that, because the nose looks more like the one the title character of Steven Universe has. Take away the hideous nose and make them look like an actual cow and not call them a boy for some fuck all reason, and you've got a decent character design. I guess this just shows how small things can really make or break aesthetics.
