John makes quasi-sexist statements like this all the time. He really does seem to think that if you're a woman then you can't possibly enjoy anything that's not specifically marketed for women or doesn't have a woman as the main character.

Elaboration: Working on a big vid covering the Wu saga from beginning to end.
I had worked on trying to do a similar one for her TIRML appearance, but ultimately it'd only be useful to those at least somewhat familiar with Wu and that isn't helpful for Wu-newcomers (Wucomers?).

It's part of it. Understand your frustration, but hear me out:
One major problem with covering Wu is that while you can drop a link to her Lolcow Wiki article here or there, it doesn't quite get into the grit as quick as a video on Wu's nuttery could be. My hope is that this vid, if I can do it right, helps set up a sort of cliff's notes version of dealing with Brianna Wu, and helps make her easy to understand (and laugh at) for the normies.
In and of itself, I don't expect this to get her mainstream attention. But if there's one Lolcow I know too much about, it's Wu.
Given how she's reacted to previous shit we (and others) have done, including making absolutely clear she follows her thread here, the fact that her article series is the most looked-at thing on Lolcow Wiki, and the fact that her natural propensity in any situation is to try to cynically manipulate a given situation for her own benefit, Wu could wind up getting the word out about herself through her own retardation alone. Not like it would be the first time.
The main reason to consider doing this is because Wu is hilariously paranoid about exposure. Seriously, more than most realize. During the attempt to get Brianna Wu's artifacts of fail (proof of her name change), she specifically went out of her way to prevent us from getting it, for all the good it did. Those more familiar with Wu may note that she had zero compunction about pulling her self-victimhood tactics throughout the entire Autism Holy War, and indeed, since (to the point of Jace still being called a threat to her life), so why hasn't she with what are by far the two biggest thorns in her side: The Farms, and Lolcow Wiki? Instead she spergs about KIA, who virtually never talks about her.
The answer, as noted by @Francis York Morgan a long time ago, is that she can't discuss us. Wu would dearly love to label us oppressors, to exploit us for victimhood the same way she did for the SA False Flags and Deagle Nation, but can't because we've got all the fucking details about her life and career, unvarnished and in excrutiating detail, and unlike the usual fare of the Rat King, Wu has plenty to lose.

The point of it was to tighten the proverbial noose that little bit and push for additional avenues where someone wanting the quick-and-dirty on Wu can get it without needing to go to Lolcow Wiki directly. Every little bit pisses her off. Admittedly, simply setting up the TIRML may be a better response there; I'll need to go over it later and decide when my schedule isn't fucked.
I honestly doubt she still keeps active tabs on us, but she probably has a few orbiters that keep an eye on us at her behest.

Guess again. We've seen evidence over the last month that Brianna is still eyeing her topic. As I mentioned in the main thread, I doubt Wu is reading it on a day to day basis because Brianna's fragile ego wouldn't be able to take it but that's what Frank is for.

John's got a nice little scam running:
1. Be a dick to a person/group under the justification of feminism or attempt to force himself into a group/hobby/topic he clearly has no knowledge of (I.E. Moon Rocks), saying/doing something wildly stupid and outlandish in the process.
2. Play the pity card and claim any backlash, no matter how insignificant is misogynist trolling and/or is putting his life in danger, making sure to bring up GamerGate, even though it's always completely irrelevant to the discussion. Oh, and mention how strong and brave of a "woman in tech" John is.
3. Use victim status as leverage to appear on TV, write an op ed on popular website, etc., becoming more famous in the process.
4. Double down on the insults and snark, knowingly fanning the flames, even though John claims internet trolls have literally put his life at risk and he knows this will just piss them off more.
5. Repeat from step 2 until fully milked.

Some comments I'd like to mention of Wu's email back to the writer of the article.
"I don't think any reasonable person would feel that you are a journalist."
This is coming from someone who is trying to run for congress with zero degree in politics, let alone no political ground to stand on. This is Journalism in its finest form in years. If you mean to tell me that getting many sides of a story and other people's testimonies isn't journalism, but "Which amiibos are the best buttplugs?" is, then I don't think you're a journalist either.
"You are a partisan... when I write I'm coming from a point of view too."
You usually come from a point of view of yourself or another woman. Never the man, and no one else. The problem here is that you can say these things but wont ever know what they mean let alone, you wont know how they actually work.
"I'm not going to help you write another right wing hit piece. These leading questions built on misleading assumptions show the piece you want to write."
Truth is now alt right apparently. But hold on. ANOTHER? Now this is getting spicy but I don't know if this has happened before or she is just spouting shit. However, this does sound interesting.

Get stories from women who worked at Atari? And you say he's not a real journalist? He DID get stories from women who worked at Atari. Either you did not read the article or you are ignorant as fuck. They probably had NO idea this was even happening so they had no hand in telling the GDC.

I don't follow Wu at all, but I will say that Nolan is the definition of a living legend. Like, dude is going to be chapter 1 of any book on the history of video games until the heat death of the universe. In terms of impact on the industry, he is very clearly up there with guys like Miyamoto. Him going to that award ceremony would lend it prestige, not the other way around. And while the crash hurt him financially, he then proceeded to found Chuck E Cheese and make even more money than he ever did at Atari.
Nolan is filthy rich and universally recognized as a seminal figure in his field. Somehow I doubt he gives a shit.
