Investopedia does a good job on breaking down the GOP tax plan.
So, reading through that site's interpretation, this bill doesnt seem all that bad. Reducing the number of tax brackets may fuck over a few, but may also help others. Now, granted, I dont agree with cutting corporate tax rates while adding to an already massive deficit (especially if this is used as an excuse to cut useful programs, which I feel will most likely happen), but for most people, this wont make their lives much, if any, worse then it is under the current tax system. All these people are freaking out over nothing, typical twitter.

The bigger issue is the rising taxes by 2027, would screw over anyone in the lower/lower middle class income, and negatively affect everyone making less then 75k. The jump from 2025 to 2027 is a harsh one (RIP if you make 20-30k, 25% higher tax rate). The Democrats could use this as an easy campaign victory if they were not busy dedicating their brain cells to SJWs.

I'm confused by this complaint. Obama added $6.5 big-Ts to the debt (which is $200B more than every president before him) in 8 years.

The problem is when people throw around arbitrary big numbers like that it's really hard to gauge what their actual impact will be, but it doesn't stop dummies from waving it around like it proves their point.

Well I have a chap down in The City who told me about this once when I expressed similar concerns about the UK's own debt.

The fact is... you don't pay all that much for the debt. Indeed, typically you pay only the interest payments in order to "maintain" the debt. Provided you can just maintain the interest rates, then everything is fine and nobody's worried about you defaulting. Because really that is when defaulting on the debt happens, when you can't meet the miniscule obligations for your spending spree then stuff starts to collapse.

As of 2015 that big n scary debt cost just $223bn to the US and it's really not that much higher now. Indeed, maintaining debt when in the west is nearly laughably easy, with even one case of UK debt bonds being issued at -0.75% as in people bought that on the basis of having government bonds and watch as it very very slowly ticks down as an investment.

So, that extra trillion dollars? Yeah, it pans out at under $50bn extra on debt maintenance payments if that.

There will be NO REVOLUTION over this.

As usual, just more people being salty that Shillary or some other Democrat isn't in office, passing similar BS onto the people had she or some one else (clearly not in it for the common person, BTW!) been the one to do this... again, shite.

Lowering the corporate tax? Yeah - bad move, but I'm not surprised - I've said it before, the real cure is not to treat corporations as (innocent) people, but as entities to punish and let suffer when they fuck up things for everyone. That can't happen fast enough... and won't, sadly.

Investopedia does a good job on breaking down the GOP tax plan.

...And yes, I read this (before posting my thoughts on all of this...) - thanks for that.

If and only if the Dems could get their shit together, they could campaign against this by challenging the unfair tax increases on lower/middle classes - those WILL be a problem, besides the national debt getting raised, as usual.

I still think things would be worse in Shillary were in charge right now, however. Much fucking worse. So, yeah - Twitter can fuck off, already.

I assume in this new tax bill we are just making the Mexicans pay our taxes.

Can someone explain to me what the tax reform is even about?, what is getting everyone salty besides it being a Trump policy?

Something about giving corporations tax breaks or something, I'm not quite sure myself. Still, putting the twittertard's insanity aside, the reform does seem like a very shitty idea for the general public.

So there's a lot of conflicting information and none of the people fucking voting for this shit actually read it. They're just doing what their owners want. The same goes with the dipshits at the WaPo. The only reason why this is breaking news is that it's Trump's thing.
I hate that any of these sentences with a few tweaks can describe what 2017 was like.
"lot of conflicting info" because no one wants the truth or can't find the truth
"None of the people actually read it" which it could be a simple quote (which happened with Paul Ryan)
And that final sentence is just so terribly true and makes me happy that I have at least half my mind left after how stupid people were this year.

Maybe they could change the name of the bill to "The Barack Obama/Hillary Clinton transgender tax bill". Then everyone would love it!
