I wonder if YouTube has some algorithm that estimates the audience for a video when it's uploaded, then decides whether or not that audience fits their mainstream advertisers' needs. If so it might be that his audience (made up of children, broke college aged adults, people living outside the USA, autist) is just worthless to advertisers.

it's an autistic tick idk about other things. DSP usually hides it so it is interesting to see it on his latest unboxing. We can always hear him rocking but rarely ever see it while he's standing.

I wonder if YouTube has some algorithm that estimates the audience for a video when it's uploaded, then decides whether or not that audience fits their mainstream advertisers' needs. If so it might be that his audience (made up of children, broke college aged adults, people living outside the USA, autist) is just worthless to advertisers.

Apparently the algorithm looks into a channels demographics to provide appropriate matched advertiser content, in theory if not in practice.
It's why you don't see popular channels aimed at pre-schoolers running trailers for the new punisher series
Views + content type + demographic = campaign

So Phils targeted ads should just be miracle cures and pyramid schemes based on his audience.

Because he thinks his fans will want to see him happy, and apparently two people can only exist happily in a three-story townhouse and him having to lower his means of living would devastate their relationship, dood. So donate now and you can personally save Phil's relationship after the last one devastated him so badly he got into a new relationship less than three months later.

The way he was wording it was in a "if I can't stay in this house, I can't be with my girlfriend so I won't be happy" way. Earlier in the thread I remember a screenshot of one of his fans saying something along the lines of "I donate because if I don't Phil isn't happy and the stream is worse."

If Phil's playing it the way it sounds like, and isn't just horrible at picking words, he's playing off that to get donations.

He rocks in all of his Vlogs, its one of those things many Autists do without ever noticing, same goes for his repeated knee slaps when games frustrate him.

It´s in peoples nature to try to make money with the least amount of effort.
It started with these whorish reply girls in YouTube, went on with those unboxing channels and now reaction channels are basically the same as those reply girls back then with the way they use the same tags as the original video so they are in the recommended videos.

People will always try to cheat the system and people hate effort. Also because YouTube doesn't reward effort anymore.
Good luck earning more than 200 bucks with a 1 minute 30 cartoon that got 2,000,000 views and took you 2 months to complete.

Clickbait is still the issue on youtube, misleading thumbnails and CAPS LOCK OMG titles. It's been like that since the beginning of youtube. Nothing can change it due to the demographic.

Clickbait doesn't work for DSP though. He's still using tags as a way of getting his views but it's not working this day and age. Plus he doesn't have that much support from Curse like Machinima, and his videos are ad unfriendly.
He got lucky recently with that Homefront video. Other than his fapping incident, his youtube career is pretty much a rotten corpse.

It just hit me that he probably had an opportunity to spend Thanksgiving with Leanna 2.0, but decided against it so he could throw a personal pity party and beg on stream.
