Correct me if I’m wrong, but Minions was made by the guys who made Despicable Me right? Cuz all things considered those movies were pretty solid and well-animated. They’re just shitting on the studio cuz it’s popular to hate Minions lol. And besides that, I don’t see how anything made by modern professionals and approved by Nintendo could be worse than the old DiC cartoons.
But of course, Chimpman and Blandy are fueled by spite and nostalgia, so nothing can surpass “That’s Mama Luigi to you, Mario!”.

Has there even been an official announcement from Nintendo? There's no point in freaking out over something that hasn't even been confirmed. But Dobson can't go through the day without bitching so I guess he's gotta take what he can get.

Correct on all accounts. The reason I think Dobson's salty about it is that the Despicable Me guys put in a lot of care into their craft, which shows. The fact that Nintendo approved of them making a Mario movie is impressive. That is something Dobson wishes he could do, but insists on being a slacktivist and blaming everyone else on his fuck ups. Movieblob (from what I've read of him), is just pathetic.

What does Dobson's answer even mean? He doesn't live in UK but if he sees any anti-trans activist in UK he will report them? How would he see them, with a telescope?
Or does he mean if he sees them on Twitter he will report them to Twitter... but then why would it even matter if he's in the UK or not?

Minions are pretty cancerous but that doesn't mean that the Mario film ( that may or may not come to fruition) will be the same way. Mostly the Minions cancer comes from them being everywhere and being deeply hateable, not the films themselves.

Not to agree with Dobson but perhaps the reason why some are concerned with Nintendo's choice of Illumination Entertainment may be more related to monetary reasons rather than any sort of admiration to the craft or the "artistry" of the studio. IHE did quite a tear down as to why Illumination is a studio that is using a business model that should not be incentivized.
