Logan was technically a superhero movie, but it actually tried to be different and more mature than the rest of the capeshit movies coming out, and because of that Bob doesn't see it as a superhero movie.

I honestly don't even understand the position he has on Logan. No, it doesn't have film flashbacks, but the comic books play essentially the same role that flashbacks would. The only thing it's really missing is the costumes, but Wolverine shedding his costume and his "Wolverine" identity has been a facet of the character since the 1980s, even in the comics.
