It's hilarious to think that the Republicans might actually manage to retain Congress this November, not because they or Trump actually accomplished anything of value but simply out of sheer dumb luck and their opponents shitting the bed.
Witness Valve employing this exact strategy to dominate the gaming industry while Microsoft, Sony and (to a lesser extent) Nintendo take turns shooting themselves in the feet, openly fucking their customers over at every opportunity for little-to-no measurable gain (people are genuinely puzzling to figure out what's in it for Sony, for example, pulling their latest stunt of deleting already-purchased, already-downloaded movies from players' consoles because Sony themselves have lost the licensing rights to continue selling it -- there's no evidence there's any requirement in the existing license agreement between Sony and the copyright holders that they proactively delete copies users have already downloaded, so by all accounts it's a literal "fuck you" to customers with no commercial or legal upside).
Valve literally releases one game every ten years, coughs up some neat niche hardware few people buy (but whose buyers generally give good reviews), and lets people sell games on Steam, and they're profitable as fuck. Meanwhile, every other hardware/software vendor in the space is literally self-immolating, laying off thousands of people, stealing from customers with a hearty "fuck you," discontinuing physical media entirely (Sony, again), etc.
Of course, Trump and republicans
are accomplishing a lot, much more than your post implies, but we'll let that backhanded compliment slide because even that bullshit is old hat and tired now and doesn't work anymore. Don't feel too bad. The trick doesn't work against Valve either. You see bots try it on /v/ every so often now (any time anybody complains about anything retarded Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo does, a troll invariably chimes in to bitch that Valve does it too and is somehow worse; people just laugh now and say "okay Tim [Sweeney, Epic/Tencent stooge]" then ignore it).
