Modern American submarines are extremely difficult to track and you have to be both extremely lucky (there's a reason why submarine patrol routes are probably the 2nd most well kept secret in the world) and actually have the ability to actively combat them and their tricks to escape detection at depth. The Russians are loud as fuck and don't really function as a stealth or surprise force. The German diesel-electrics (yes they still do those lmao) are generally what most countries go with and are pretty stealthy even if they don't have the capabilities of nuclear subs. No idea about China but probably a half decent copying of the general idea.
Remember, America has been 50 years ahead of everyone else, and we built the Ohios in the late 70s...and they're still somehow decades ahead of everyone else. Now we're planning new even spookier missile subs using shit we learned from the Virginias, plus all the other material goodness we've built upon from various other programs, and that's going to last us for, you guessed it, another 50 years.
The US is fucking scary. We have the sciences, personal, and budget to Skyrim stealth archer headshot God with a nuclear tipped arrow.
