I actually do not believe I have gotten this feedback yet in this thread. I sort of tried to model it after Vivek's lolcow page which I thought had three joke aliases. But now I am not sure. Are there clearer rules on this?

One issue is that, actually, Platner's handles aren't where the lore is. It's coming from (1) his ex girlfriends' social media accounts and (2) national mainstream news.

It's definitely an odd case where the "cow" here isn't personally uploading content, others are usually uploading content about him. I do think his old reddit username "P-Hustle" or whatever could go up, but he deleted that reddit account so it's not all that much more informative because you still have to go to media outlets who archived his stuff to see what he posted.

He was running against an extremely unpopular politician (who was a Democrat too), and there was that weird dude dividing Cuomo's vote.

Platner is running against an extremely popular moderate Republican who doesn't have any scandals.

Susan Collins is a Republican, not a Democrat reject like Cuomo, and she is known as a reliable and likable person.

She is seen as principled and had no problems standing against Trump on key issues.

New York and Maine are different types of blue states.

New York is more of an international city, and Maine is a deeply white New England state.

Maine's demographics don't have the massive anti-Semitic and pro-Muslim undertones that New York had.

I'm surprised he hasn't already officially dropped out yet already.

He's not Biden. He's not coming off a decades-long political career, he didn't achieve the highest office in the land, he has no legacy to protect. Realistically, his political career is stillborn but that doesn't change if he plays nice and drops out. Right now the  only leverage he has is "do what I say or I'm crashing this chance at a (D) Senate seat with no survivors."

If he can get the Dems to pick someone he approves of, that's someone who now owes any political career they have past that point to him, at least in part. And who knows, there are people still defending him even now. It's not exactly a reasonable chance that the power of "vote blue no matter who" will get him across the finish line, but I wouldn't be shocked if he decides to go for it anyways. What does he have to lose?
