IndyCar Thread - Discussion on IndyCar races and its drivers

Great 500, it wound up raining as soon as the stands started emptying but it quit pretty soon. If you ever attend, the tailgating scene is pretty good.

Yet another oval banger, looks like the most Aryan man in racing is fully back.

Reddit, stop huffing the copium about Myles Rowe. He's not good enough for the top level just because he's getting a win in his 4th season in NXT against rookies and pay drivers. If he lacked melanin, they would be treating him like Bryce Aron.

Then again, these guys huff ridiculous amounts of Legge copium, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Will buxton is constantly slobbing Rowe's knob on twitter.

Even my favorite Indycar-coverer is all "You HAVE to give Rowe a drive" and then commits the sin - who anyone who follows the series should know - of comparing him to the rest of the current Lights lineup. Which everyone knows isn't accurate. It's the Lights lineup PLUS the current crop of F1 washouts PLUS the F2 phenoms-but-also-dead-enders PLUS up and coming pay drivers PLUS then you have to deal with the bevy of Indiana-natives who keep insisting Conor Daly HAS to have a seat. You're competing against all those things and a guy who's okay sometimes and really okay on ovals sometimes doesn't really cut it.

Because if you want that, just hire Daly. He won't do any better than Rowe but Indiana will love you and that counts for something in Indycar.

Graham Rahal called out Indianapolis for being a crime infested shithole.
His actual words were,
"Indy has turned into a complete dump and it’s sad to say the least. We had a massive car event there the other night (overnight) and security guarding the cars wouldn’t stay because they didn’t feel safe as there were numerous kids running around with guns etc. It’s pathetic."

The city's rot comes from the top, so good luck getting anything done about it but maybe if more sports professionals start complaining and maybe refuse to hold events there, something might change for Little Chicago. I'm not hopeful though.

The city's rot comes from the top,
No, it's because there's a ton of green people:

Dixy leaving is nuts. Unlike usual Chip probably was willing to pay to keep him, so... what. It's probably his newfound love of livin' in the UK and McLaren's new protoype program. Gonna be interesting.

Scott Dixon is leaving Chip Ganassi Racing.

24 years is one hell of a run indeed. I don't know if anyone had as long of a tenure on a single team, other sports included.
McLaren firing their only driver who's won this year (multiple times), is 2nd in the standings and is averaging a 1.8 finish on road courses is nuts. Replacing him with a near-50 year old is even more nuts. I thought Dixon would retire at Ganassi.

McLel once again trips over their own dick. If Lundgaard gets the 9 and dominates, this will end up as one of the biggest fumbles in racing history. Almost Piastri-level.

List of McLel Moments:
-Ending Askew's career after firing him after he got a concussion
-Getting dumped by Palou after they offered him a chance at an F1 seat, knowing full well they didn't have one
-Fumbling Malukas
-Firing Pourchaire mid-season for a pay driver who has shitted it up the entire time he's been there
-Firing Lundgaard after he's had a career year and replacing him with the oldest driver in the series

Fuck Zak Brown and his massive gunt. At least Rosenqvist is a good pickup.
